Exclamation TSA Pre-Chek system was in place at Las Vegas show

Yet again, this shows the freedom crushing nonsense and utter ineffectiveness that is "security theater" of Thousands Standing Around.

The second story is from last year, but TSA "Pre-Chek" was in place in 2017 as well:

Route 91 Harvest had a long list of banned items — including stuffed animals and tactical gear — and allowed those with TSA Precheck clearance to bypass general admission lines. A map of the event shows six possible exits, all leading to roads on the Vegas Strip.

In Las Vegas, TSA PreCheck members get fast lane into country music festival

    September 29, 2016 - 4:04 pm

Fans of country music superstars Brad Paisley and Toby Keith will be able to hop into a “fast pass lane” that will help them quickly access the Route 91 Country Harvest Festival this weekend at the Las Vegas Village.

Just like at the airport, members of the Transportation Security Administration’s PreCheck program can go through a dedicated lane to bypass the general admission line for the three-day festival that begins Friday.

Members who present their “known traveler” membership number and a photo identification card will receive a wristband that grants them expedited access to the event, according to officials with IdentoGo, the company contracted by the TSA to handle PreCheck enrollments.

Along with providing the festival access perk, IdentoGo will also enroll new PreCheck members from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday at a booth inside the festival.

“People in general don’t like to stand in long lines and we wanted to attach a benefit to the PreCheck program,” said Charles Carroll, senior vice-president of identity enrollment services for MorphoTrust, the parent company of IdentoGo. “If you have a large amount of people at major events, a fast-lane makes sense.”

While declining to disclose details, Carroll said his company is negotiating similar “fast lane” options for events scheduled next year in Las Vegas and elsewhere in the country.

Nearly 4 million people have enrolled in PreCheck since the program started in October 2011. Travelers pay $85 to join PreCheck, and must show a government-issued photo identification card, along with either a United States passport or birth certificate and complete a digital fingerprinting process.

What I want to know, was there TSA "officers" on scene, or are the $#@!ers selling TSA Pre Chek data to private security firms?

Pretty sure it was just a private security firm, and not actually the TSA. Which explains why it was so wholly ineffective.

If the TSA were there instead of a private security firm, I bet this tragedy would have been prevented.

Good question. Depends upon how they implement it. Is this the same as the pre-check that is randomly printed on a boarding pass at an airport, or is this a card that someone carries? How is this verified at the concert gate? Is it on the ticket?

Seems likely they are giving info to the ticketing agency.

They want your "Known Traveler Number" also known as your TSA Pre Check number.

That connects to your TSA file.

Somehow they had access to that system, and if you had a valid KTN, they would let you bypass/upgrade/do whatever so you didn't have to shuffle in line with the rest of the Mundanes.

This is the first I'm hearing of such $#@!, and I want to know if TSA was there in charge of validating these KTN numbers inside their database, or if they are just giving access to any jerk-off security.buziness @ nocturnal.aviation.net outfit that pays a fee.

And regardless, like I said in the OP, all of just illustrates the mental bukkake that goes on to justify this "security theater".

One $#@! from a high place with good guns rendered it all pointless, hopeless, worthless, in a matter of minutes: all the gate rapes, porno scanners, extorted tax dollars, stolen goods, molested children and ruined lives...utterly useless.

IdentoGO is a private company that provides TSA Pre-Check enrollment. People can enroll in pre-check on-site, and then they go through the venue's normal security, not TSA security.

Live Nation adding TSA Pre-Check enrollment, entry lines into festivals and events

That same Fast Pass that will get you through airport security quicker now applies to music festivals

If you’ve taken a plane in the last few years, you’ve probably looked on in envy as pre-screened passengers snaked around the security line and skipped the wait on their way into the terminal. You’ll soon see the same thing at Live Nation’s festivals and concerts.

As Hypebot points out, the live event giant has announced a partnership with IdentoGo, the same company that helps the TSA with their Pre-Check program. They’ll bring the very same enrollment protocol to festivals and venues. Once a member, concertgoers will be allowed to bypass long entry lines with a Fast Pass wristband. (You also won’t have to remove your shoes or take your laptop out of your bag; no new security procedures are being added.)

Signing up for the festival Fast Pass is the same as for the TSA Pre-Check — in fact, enrolling in one qualifies you for both, so if you’re already a Pre-Check member, you’re already able to skip the Live Nation lines. The application process takes about 10 minutes and costs $85; all you need to do is provide valid government-issued ID and/or proof of US citizenship at a designated enrollment location, undergo a quick screening process, and you’re set for five years. Live Nation will even help you avoid the long waits at enrollment centers by providing sign up stations at certain venues and events.

Once you’re a member, you’ll provide your nine-digit Known Traveler Number and a photo ID at the Fast Pass gate, and walk right into the concert. The program has already been unveiled at Washington’s Watershed Festival, and will have a presence at Las Vegas’ Route 91 Harvest, and New York’s The Meadows Music & Arts Festival. Venues participating in the Fast Pass system include Dallas, Texas’ Gexa Energy Pavilion; Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta, Georgia; and West Palm Beach, Florida’s Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre.

Live Nation will be testing to program out through the end of next year. If successful, expect to see Fast Pass lines at nearly every venue and festival the company owns.
I never signed up but usually have "pre-check" on my airline tickets.

It's only a matter of time before someone shoots ALL the hapless suckers standing in line to get into the event, "pre-check" or not. The shooter does not really care if you got to enjoy part of your show.

These event-goers and security imbeciles will still be undeterred by their ill-logic and demand even more security theater.

That doesn't make any sense. You can't have pre-chek status unless you have enrolled in it or you are traveling on the same reservation with someone that has pre-chek status. My SO is a pre-chek and when we fly together I get it too. Otherwise, I do not.

I don't know how I got it- but it has been on my tickets for at least three years now (since the first time I even noticed it- I may have had it longer- usually I just look for the gate number and departure time on the boarding pass). I never filled out anything. Unless it automatically came when I signed up for a passport.

On ABC news couple of days ago, an expert discussed measures like Vegas hotels automatically sending names of hotel guests to policing agencies for checking among other things.
Puzzling "dmoestically radicalized" incidences like this coupled with foreign freedom policy related incidences, the security centric state has no where to go but forward.

So my initial suspicions were correct: every half assed jamoke with a company that deals with the public or security in any way, can buy access into the Pre Chek database.

Yes, some creepy Big Brother outfit called "Ident-a-Go/Morpho Trust", a foreign flag French outfit which is inbred with an even creepier US bastard cousin called L-1, which was managed by James Loy, who pushed the idea of a TWIC card and Pre Chek, and then quit government to sit on the board of L-1 and Lockheed Martin, who you used to pay your TWIC fees to directly.

How has this not been challenged in court? This reads like a racketeering scheme orchestrated by the federal government over stepping its legislative authority within a state's policing powers. Moreover, it amounts to a federal entertainment-travelers tax and does nothing to improving security, and pretty much decimates every enumerated constitutional protection afforded to Americans.
