Default Rand: Possibly news from WhiteHouse re Health Associations - within 2 weeks

Rand Paul on Morning Joe. "Could be big news from White House in next week or 2"
Could reinterpret existing ARISA law about who can form an association. Also Rand's ideas about North Korea.

"I don't think people on the left are gonna hate it."

It's not going to happen because there are too many people on Ron Paul Forums who are skeptical that Trump would ever actually do anything good.

    Thanks a lot, guys.

He mentioned this on Hannity last week. Hopefully it happens.
Theye have refused their Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

Theye have erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance.

Theye kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies

Theye have combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution,

For protecting them, by a mock Trial from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For cutting off our Trade with parts of the world:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefit of Trial by Jury:

Theye plundered and destroyed the lives of our people.

Theye are at this time transporting Armies of Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation, and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & Perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy of a civilized nation.

    Default "Trump preparing executive order"

    According to the Washington Examiner

Trump preparing executive order to let Americans purchase health insurance across state lines

    by Gabby Morrongiello | Sep 27, 2017, 1:05 PM

President Trump is preparing an executive order to allow people to purchase health insurance across state lines, a reform conservatives have long championed as a way to bring costs down and stir greater competition in the national marketplace.

The executive action gives the White House a chance to follow through on at least one promise related to healthcare reform after Senate Republicans' second attempt to overhaul Obamacare failed this week. Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul first mentioned the action during a TV appearance Wednesday morning, saying Trump was considering taking matters into his own hands.

"I think there's going to be big news from the White House in the next week or two, something they can do on their own," Paul told MSNBC, adding that Trump "can legalize on his own the ability of individuals to join a group or a health association across state lines and buy insurance."

A Senate GOP source told the Washington Examiner the executive action is considered "a done deal" and likely to be announced "in the next few weeks."

Trump later confirmed to reporters he is likely to issue an order permitting "people to go out across state lines, do lots of things, and buy their own healthcare."

The president described the forthcoming executive action as "very major," adding he also intends to spend the next few months negotiating with Democrats on a bipartisan healthcare bill.

Paul said he has discussed the proposal with the president and Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta on "multiple occasions"
while the Senate was focused on advancing the Graham-Cassidy bill, which was pulled from a vote on Tuesday.

“The order will direct the Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS), Labor, and Treasury to make it easier for individuals to group together and purchase insurance through "association health plans," according to the report.

The president also directs the agencies in the order to roll back the Obama administration regulations of “short-term medical insurance,” which is a cheap limited-protection option that the former administration claimed did not provide adequate coverage for individuals. ”

    I'm skeptical and waiting.

I definitely have no reason to hate the guy but damn.

With all his jabbering I wish he'd direct his trolling skills at something worthwhile. Troll the damn Federal Reserve instead of chubby cult leaders..

Can you imagine what kind of conversations Dr. Paul could start with that kind of reach?

    Why didn't he?

Randal: Hey Donald, can we talk about the Federal Reserve?
    Donald: What about it?
Randal: My dad thinks it is bad.
Donald: What do you think we should do?
Randal: Well, we should at least audit it.
Donald: Do you want to topple the house of cards? Are you nuts?

Well looks like it is finally happening today:
    https://www.upi.com/Top_News/US/2017...7581507806543/

    excerpts:
Trump will sign the order -- designed to "promote healthcare choice and competition" -- at 11:15 a.m. EDT, the White House said.
    ...
The order is expected to place limits on short-term health insurance plans and encourage cheaper and more loosely regulated health plans aimed at younger, healthier people. By allowing healthier people to seek coverage elsewhere, experts worry that could leave less healthy participants on the hook for the difference.
    ...
Within a year, this would kill the market," said Karen Pollitz, who worked for former President Barack Obama's Health and Human Services Department.
    ...
The new association definition could cover small businesses, trade groups, unions and self-employed individuals. Under such a change, associations would not have to meet ACA benefit requirements or cover a minimum percentage of employee healthcare costs.

With associations, health care providers can effectively choose the most desirable participants, allowing the healthy to make the switch to save money -- and potentially shutting out the less healthy.

"No one healthy is now going to sign up in the ACA risk pool, because they have this cheaper option," Deep Banerjee, a health care analyst at S&P Global Ratings said.

The Hill reported that Sen. Rand Paul is expected to be in attendance at the unveiling of the executive order on Thursday. For months, he has pushed a presidential order -- arguing that allowing small businesses to band together to buy insurance gives them leverage to lower premiums.

They are already declaring this EO as another sign of Trump's worsening mental state. They say Rand Paul is a pariah on the Hill and that no one should be listening to him. Both dem and rep leadership gatekeepers can't be happy with the optics of this.

Actually, yes. The HHS Sec answers directly to the President, and the way the order is written, it addresses what the Secretary "may" or "shall" do, which is merely clarifying how that is to be done. The President has issued directives based on the authority ascribed to him and the sec in the bill.
