Rubio’s statement came in the form of a series of tweets he posted in response to the Charlottesville circus. Here are his exact words:

“When entire movement built on anger & hatred towards people different than you, it justifies & ultimately leads to violence against them.”

While the trained seals who follow hucksters like Rubio will bark their approval for his “brave words”; those who love liberty will shudder at the true ramifications of what he is saying. But let’s begin by trying to parse who exactly he is saying it about.
Like a good political opportunist, he speaks in vague terms. One might surmise that his reference to an “entire movement” is a shot at Donald Trump and his supporters. Myriads of establishment politicians have accused Trump of “anger & hatred”; yet examples of this are never forthcoming, other than disagreements over something like immigration policy. So, is Rubio saying it’s OK to physically attack any who belong to “the movement” that elected Trump? And if so, then is Rubio also saying it’s OK to physically attack Trump? The supposed leader of this “movement?” The political vagaries allow Rubio to deny this, and perhaps say that he is talking about white supremacists, neo-Nazis, or the KKK. But even if he is talking about these groups…. Is he correct in saying it’s “justifiable” to physically attack them for their views? If so, then he is no friend to freedom in general, nor to free speech in specific.
Most Americans, including me, abhor the ideologies of white supremacy, Nazism, and the KKK. But if a nation truly wants free speech, then even those we abhor must be allowed to speak their mind. There is no need to pass laws protecting polite speech. It is the very thoughts and words of those we vociferously disagree with that must be protected. Otherwise, there is no freedom at all. Only a rotating cycle of dictatorships, who suppress the people they conquer. And any U.S. Senator who encourages violence against anyone for their political views is a part of the problem and not the solution. While Rubio may rail against Castro, his views toward free speech are identical. He may rail against Adolph Hitter, but his views on free speech are no different.

Another Protester Beaten, Trump Campaign Manager Involved in Scuffle at Arizona Rally

A protester being escorted out of Donald Trump’s Saturday night rally in Tucson, Arizona, was attacked, punched, and repeatedly kicked by a rally attendee in the latest incidence of violence at one of the GOP front-runner’s campaign events. In videos taken of the attack, a white protester wearing an American flag shirt is seen being escorted up the stairs of the venue in front of another protester, a woman wearing a Ku Klux Klan hood and who may have been giving a Nazi salute to the crowd. A black man in the crowd then rushes the first protester, rips a sign out of his hands, and starts beating him:

Trump himself had called for the protesters to be removed from the rally after noticing the woman in the KKK hood, and on Sunday morning Trump suggested the protesters had the attack coming, telling ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that, “This happened to be an African American man who was very very incensed that someone a protester would be wearing a Ku Klux Klan outfit.” That man, 32-year-old Tony Pettway, was arrested at the scene and charged with assault. Nothing else is known about Pettway, including whether he is a Trump supporter, as of midday Sunday.

In addition, Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski was involved in separate scuffle at the event when he joined a member of Trump’s private security detail in trying to remove a group of anti-Trump protesters who were standing behind Trump waving signs and jeering the candidate while he gave his speech. In a video capturing that brief altercation, a plainclothes security person can be seen aggressively grabbing and pulling a protester by back of his collar as the protester tries to move away, and Lewandowski is also seen grabbing the young man’s shirt, albeit with less force than the security person. A campaign spokesperson has insisted to CBS News that Lewandowski didn’t in fact touch the protester, but watch the video and decide for yourself:

Trump commented on the incident himself on Sunday morning, telling ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that Lewandowski didn’t touch the protester and suggesting he was actually impressed with how his campaign manager would take it upon himself to try and deal with protesters. “I give him credit for having spirit, he wanted them to take down those horrible, profanity-laced signs,” Trump said, adding that, “security at the arena, the police were a little bit lax.”

Ya whenever the media showed a violent incident at a Trump rally, it turned out that the person they showed who got punched or whatever had previously been violent on or off-camera.. but the media (and zippo) fail to mention things like this.

I think there was also a black Trump supporter who punched a white protester at one point and the media wouldn't show it on TV either. They don't show anything that goes against their narrative.

I assume he meant that it makes people feel justified in using violence (as opposed to them actually being justified).

Better phrasing would have been "it legitimates," but Rubio is very thick.

On the other hand, he's also very violent, so maybe he did mean it the way it appears.

Also, it's not clear whether the "them" against whom the NAZIs are provoking violence is the NAZIs themselves or those they hate.
