    Lightbulb Discussion for 30 Minute Infomercial

    I would like to open this idea up for discussion to see what can come of it. Please don't crucifye me ... it is only a suggestion.

    We need a grassroots effort, utilizing the available grassroots talent and expertise to write, produce, record, edit, and market a 30 minute infomercial of Dr. Paul discussing the pressing issues facing voters in this election. I think that somewhere, in his mass of supporters and volunteers that we could creat such a production for mere pennies with our only major expense being airtime. And we might even find someone among us who could help with that. Lets face it .... MSM is not gonna roll over just because we flood their websites with e-mails (of any knid), phone calls and letters. The Republican Party is not gonna just up and change their mind about letting Dr. Paul walk away as its 2008 presidential nominee. It just ain't gonna happen. At least not without one hell of a fight!

    The Blimp! Man it's gonna be fantastic for those on the East Coast and Florida, but lets face it .... there's an awful lot of eligible voters between the east coast and the west coast who will never see it except on the news and that's only provided we can shame into reporting it! And then there's the "Tea Party" whew, that's gonna be huge in just about every city on the map with a harbor or a port... but come on ... there's an awful lot of eligible voters out there who've never seen an ocean, much less a harbor! The "Money Bombs" ... wow! What a great idea those were! But guess what ???... they don't really win anybody over or answer peoples questions.

    If Dr. Paul did an 30 minute infomercial with a well known, like minded personality as the moderator it could be marketed in specifically targeted markets, when needed. Cable air time is not that expensive as compared to Network TV. In addition DVD's of any givin length could be mastered from it for distribution to the target markets as handouts in preceeding primaries. And generally speaking, cable channels give three to four times the amount of airplay you pay for just to fill their timeslots, whether in primetime or late night.

    Anybody have any comments or suggestions on this? Whaddayathink?

    This has been brought up several times with few people being enthusiastic. I have some experience in TV ad buying (not much).

    It is very difficult to buy time around Christmas. Perot ran his ads in a recession and in the spring. There was extra airtime. Go on Wikipedia and read about Perot and why he was able to buy time.

    Also TV has changed significantly in the last 15 years. Fewer people watch the big 4 and what channel would be very difficult.

    Good idea.

    Anybody know what happened to Perot. We could really use him, or some other like minded heavy hitters to bankroll this type of operation.

    If this project ever got off the ground, Comedy Central would be your best bet. It's the right denomination.
