USC long snapper Jake Olson, who is blind, makes game debut vs. Western Michigan
USC called a timeout before attempting an extra point after the No. 4 Trojans scored a touchdown late in the fourth quarter of their 49-31 win against Western Michigan. They put in Jake Olson, a redshirt sophomore long snapper, who has been involved with the USC football program since 2009, when he lost his eyesight at the age of 12 due to cancer.
It was the first snap of Olson's career and it was on the money. Kicker Chase McGrath's point after attempt was good, giving the Trojans their final point in their season-opening victory.

Florida , Florida State and USC looked as expected .Less than impressive and over ranked .
So far , Clemson , Ohio St , OK , Alabama , Penn St . Wisconsin , Washington , Ok State, Stanford ,Michigan , LSU look like they could be contenders .

The only thing I'll always wonder about Saban is how great of a Xs and Os coach is he? The reason I say this is that he's had the number one recruiting class almost every year. He's obviously a very good technical coach but is he great? It's impossible to answer since he has the best players. For example guys like Frank Beamer and Chris Peterson had like the 50th ranked recruiting classes but usually finished in the top 20. And then there's guys who have top ten classes and finish much lower.
In consolation, what we have here is a situation where a coach is under a lot of pressure to win a championship in the toughest conference in the country. He has recruited players of low character, and that's kind of a shame.

Jeff George Jr on second series 80 yards passing in 24 seconds three plays and a 21 yard touchdown pass . Two point conversion failed Illinois trails South Florida 15 - 37 13 1/2 minutes to play .
Memphis beats UCLA 48 - 45 , Northern Illinois beats Nebraska 21 - 17 . Tennessee , Auburn , Florida all less than impressive in the first halves .
Army trails Ohio State 7 - 14 , six minutes to half .

Hopefully now we can move forward and get closer to dropping these pretenders like Tennessee, Florida ,LSU , USC ,Florida State and make room for a real football team like Vandy .
