Revealed: Whopping 73 Percent of CBO’s ‘Lost Coverage’ Estimate Comes From Individual Mandate Repeal

    Wat?

Conservative healthcare policy wonk Avik Roy, a strong supporter of the imperiled Senate healthcare bill,
wrote an eye-opening analysis over the weekend.

He examined and applied leaked data in order to demonstrate how the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office
would score any GOP Obamacare replacement bill as "denying" coverage to at least 16 million Americans.

That's due to CBO's fanatical belief in the power of the existing law's individual mandate tax,
an article of faith to which they've clung, despite hard contradictory evidence.

For the first time, Roy is able to reveal exactly how heavily -- and dubiously --
CBO leans on the strength the individual mandate in producing its coverage numbers.

Yeah, I've been saying this for a long time. You're not losing something you don't want.

My insurance is taking care of myself. Lucky me--I never, ever go to a doctor. Things can happen though, but how many people can easily pay a big medical bill? I have some rainy day money. I could use it in a pinch and still do just as well as many people with insurance.

Insurance is a bet that they can save/invest your money better than you can.

Yeah, I don't even believe in insurance. I never carry it unless "required." Most of it just preys on people's irrational fears. Their "what if" scenarios are often mathematically improbable.

Combine insurance with Americans' obsessions with safety and you've have found the perfect investment opportunity.

"Pre-paid legal." Anybody ever see this retarded, irrational sh*t?

Since 1972. That's about right. Maybe the legal industry can start requiring this. Why not, after all?

I have legal council on retainer. Gave them $1500. I've used them twice. Once for a business related matter and the other on a property related matter. I still about $1200 on retainer. I can get that back anytime I want, but as long as it is there it means that the legal council there will get back to me in a timely manner if TSHTF. It also gives me a nifty calling card with one of the best firms in towns. Which I will hand to any officer that pulls me.

I have never had health insurance. I would rather spend my meager earnings on good food, fitness and relaxation. When you consider most of the major causes of death result from diseases that are preventable, in most cases.

I am also at peace with my own mortality. Eventually, no matter how well I eat and exercise, I will die. Considering I will face death whether I am insured or not, I would be a fool not to spend my money on good food and living. F--- the insurance companies!
