Exactly! You need good saturated fats. Your brain, most of all needs it. Is it any wonder why people are walking around like they are in a fog?

    “Brain-Fog”/Forgetfulness:
When eating low-fat, you may find that you have difficulty processing and remembering things. This is often referred to as “brain fog”. The brain is compiled mostly of saturated fat and cholesterol. Saturated fat and cholesterol insulates the myelin sheath that surrounds nerve fibers and preserves proper function of the brain and nervous system. More insulated myelin equals better brain function. Messages/signals in the brain can be more easily transported through nerves. This is a protective layer that helps the brain function properly! Without it, the impulses can be “broken” leading to “brain fog”

Eat a bowl of lard- get skinny. Big Mac can help you lose weight. If you were eating too much fat and switch to too much sugar, you have not improved your diet.

We do need saturated fats. In small amounts. But are more saturated fats good for you? No. Too much of anything is not healthy. Sugar being bad does not make eating lots of fats a healthy move.

    Everything in moderation.

For over 40 years people have been told to stay away from ALL fats--no moderation just flat-out scare tactics. We have people who are literally walking around in a fog (grain-brain), in a zombie-like state because their brains are starving for the good saturated fat it needs. Not to mention most people are simply walking around malnourished.

No, they haven't been told to stay away from all fats. Just to moderate fat intake. Some people do choose to take things to extremes though.

Despite 40 years of Americans being brainwashed into thinking that fat is bad, it turns out it’s sugar, not fat, that makes you sick and overweight.

The facts are in, the science is beyond question. Sugar in all its forms is the root cause of our obesity epidemic and most of the chronic disease sucking the life out of our citizens and our economy — and, increasingly, the rest of the world. You name it, it’s caused by sugar: heart disease, cancer, dementia, type 2 diabetes, depression, and even acne, infertility and impotence.

The average American consumes about 152 pounds of sugar a year. That’s roughly 22 teaspoons every day for every person in America. And our kids consume about 34 teaspoons every day — that’s more than two 20-ounce sodas — making nearly one in four teenagers pre-diabetic or diabetic.

Flour is even worse than sugar. We consume about 146 pounds of flour a year. Think about it. That’s about one pound of sugar and flour combined every day for every man, woman and child in America. And flour raises blood sugar even more than table sugar. Even whole-wheat flour.

My 11 for that list-fasting. Pick a day when you don't have much planned anyway and fast as completely as your health allows. I fast seasonally for religious reasons, but it does have a detox effect and if you do it right you can put your body into a state of ketosis. A handy tool in your health arsenal.

That doesn't say eat zero fats. There are good fats and bad fats as well as good and bad sugars. Sugars in fruits and vegetables contain important nutrients you need. Table sugar has nothing good for you other than calories. (the Atkins diet which started the high protein thing was also supposed to be a low fat diet).

I agree. Of course there are healthy fats (nuts, avocado, etc) that people need. But I think people need to be careful with automatically believing certain "studies," because some of them are directly funded by industries that want you to keep eating things like cheese, meat, etc.
“I have no doubt that it is a part of the destiny of the human race, in its gradual improvement, to leave off eating animals, as surely as the savage tribes have left off eating each other.”
