    What happened to the "California Dream"?

    I moved to Los Angeles for school a few months ago and there are many people here who complain about the costs of living, rent in particular. People working 2-3 jobs isn't uncommon. People leaving (usually when they are beginning to have a family) to another state isn't uncommon. What happened to the Golden State?

    California is ranked dead last among 50 states for occupational freedom, labor freedom, and victimless crime prosecution. It consistently ranks as the 49th . least free state overall.
