WASHINGTON — Sen. Elizabeth Warren said Tuesday that opposing the Republican health-care bill wasn’t enough and the Democratic Party should start running on a new national single-payer plan.
“President Obama tried to move us forward with health-care coverage by using a conservative model that came from one of the conservative think tanks that had been advanced by a Republican governor in Massachusetts,” she told The Wall Street Journal. ”Now it’s time for the next step. And the next step is single payer.”

“The progressive agenda is America’s agenda,” she said. “It’s not like we’re trying to sell stuff that people don’t want … It’s not that at all. It’s that we haven’t gotten up there and been as clear about our values as we should be, or as clear and concrete about how we’re going to get there.”

I would surmise that over 90 percent of americans would get less and worse health care under single payer than they currently have . So , yes , that is her goal , to make the other 9 of ea 10 of you suffer after raising the cost . Pay more get less .

Once upon a time a singular person went to a doctor. They worked out an agreement where the doctor would charge the singular person and the singular person would pay him. That was when it was being done right.
And like everything to do with government the words they use are in direct opposition to what is happening. How the hell is universal insurance equated to "single payer." There's not a single payer. There's hundreds of millions.

I think single-payer is a foregone conclusion at this point. It's just a matter of time.

Of course, you don't really get single-payer. That's just for the middle and lower classes. Quality health care will still be available for a price. We have single-payer primary education, but the wealthy still use private schools.

If there were truly a "single" single-payer system with no black market, you'd see these same people calling for a free market solution in a heartbeat! Single-payer may be fine for thee, but not for me!

i think that single payer has good points and bad points , most of the western world has single payer and about all have longer Life expectancy than we do .

the US should send some very smart people to the western world countries and do a study on their health care and find out their good and bad points , then try and use all the good points to use here .

the countries have already done the hard part so we can use all their good parts .
