Graphic Language: Civil Rights activist calls for Cancellation of Bill Maher show

A prominent voice of the Libertarian-neocon wing chapter is facing calls of boycott, no reported response from show advertizers yet. Recently Fox's Bill O'Reilly show went offline after boycott calls from womens rights groups:

    Bill Maher’s N-Word Draws Outrage: ‘I’m a House N—er’

Did Bill Maher just try to take the heat off of Kathy Griffin? His out-of-nowhere use of the N-word on Friday’s “Real Time” brought instant rebukes and calls for him to be fired.

The former “Politically Incorrect” host proved he’s still politically incorrect when Republican Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse jokingly invited him to “work in the fields.”

    “Senator, I’m a house n—-a,” Maher said, immediately adding: “It’s a joke.”

Many didn’t take it that way. “He said ‘n—er’ with a HARD ASS Rrrrrrrrrruh, so that makes this extra offensive,” said The Root writer Monique Judge, who added: “His show needs to be canceled.”

Griffin, who was forced to apologize this week after widespread outrage over images of her with a fake decapitated head of President Trump, has been a real-time guest before.
Maher was notably silent on her situation — but his egregious N-word helped her as nothing else could have. At least for a night, it drew national outrage toward him, instead of her.

    Please don't call him that.

And it has nothing to do with the scandal du jour that he is now embroiled in.

Bill Maher is no more a libertarian than the man in the moon.

I should have used different wording for faux libertarian like him (and Bill Oreilly, Howard Stern etc) , I see Libertarian-Neocon trait as likely as Frozen-Fire.
Occasionally a throws a good point and tends to be bit nuanced compared to other MSM enablers of nonsensical foreign interventions but you are right about him.

Advertisers? Bill Maher's show is on HBO. There's no advertisers on HBO.

    Oh yea, you are right.

There is other forms of pressure on them. From Drudge, apparently lack of sleep was the cause :

    BILL MAHER N-WORD DRAWS OUTRAGE...

    ISSUES APOLOGY...
Maher said in a statement: “Friday nights are always my worst night of sleep because I’m up reflecting on the things I should or shouldn’t have said on my live show. Last night was a particularly long night as I regret the word I used in the banter of a live moment. The word was offensive and I regret saying it and am very sorry.”

    HBO UNDER PRESSURE...

Anti-Trump comedians having really bad moment...

Did they take offense that he used the word nig*er or that he felt he was better than others because he said he would not be a field nig*er but would be a house nig*er? What makes him so good that he deserves to work as a house nig*er instead of in the fields?

While I agree with you, I wouldnt necessarily say that if his show were cancelled it'd be a good thing. He'd just be replaced with somebody worse and it helps to further solidify the notion that "offensive" material shouldnt be allowed to exist. While I dont particularly like Maher, at least he didnt buy into the whole PC bullcrap.

Pretty soon all TV shows will be titled something along the lines of "Rainbow Sunshine Hugs With Puppies".

GOP Senator: I Should Have Spoken Up When Bill Maher Used N-Word

Sen. Ben Sasse from Nebraska didn’t wait long to agree with all the outrage on social media that quickly chastised him for just sitting there when HBO host Bill Maher used the N-word during an interview on Friday night. The senator took to Twitter early on Saturday to say that he should have chastised Maher for using a word that amounts to “an attack on universal human dignity.”
