While I have always thought that the entire strategic bombing campaign (with the exception of legitimate military/industrial targets) was one of the worst war crimes ever, I fail to see any point to bringing this up at this time.

    What was your point?

This is a double posted thread, and should be in history not world news.

The same history is used to promote today's foreign policy. This is why you cannot just ignore what happened in WW II cos it affects our lives today.

What's going on with Assad might affect your life but to me it's all words in 'Teh-Newz' ....

The evil politicians who insist on involving the country in the affairs of other nations ARE my concern.

I could honestly not give a $#@! if those people on the other side of the globe blow each other out of existence...

Really? But what happens in Syria creates refugees in not just Syria but the region. Refugees try and some come to America and from there, I am sure it would affect your life. Also I completely agree that if the people on the other side want to blow each other out of existence, it is not really your business. But does it make any difference if some of the money used to fund that war is you tax money and it is being sold under your name?

I hate it when my money is used for silly and non fatal welfare programs like Obama phones and I doubly hate it when any part of my money is used to kill people.

I don't want my money or my name involved in any of their shenanigans on the other side of the globe and I want nothing to do with any 'refugees'....

My heart bleeding extends to neighbors and family not somebody from another country or culture and certainly not to politicians in DC who would decide which foreigner gets lucre....

Bombings are but a small part of politicians acting out of turn..

Waging war on the citizens on these shores is just as abhorrent as dropping bombs on foreigners.

Fiddling with the economy to benefit friends and constituents ruins as many families as their 'wars'...

Not that it justifies the bombing, but the Axis clearly was the aggressor.

That is a simplistic view of a VERY complex time in history.
