[Tube] Rand On House Passed TrumpCare Bill (Cavuto)

No tube yet, will post later. He said he's a no unless there are major changes. Talked about his plan for loosening rules on purchasing groups to allow people the leverage to negotiate better premiums. Railed against the subsidy to insurance companies. Said he had to stand on principle here.

    God damn right.

This will be Rand's moment to shine. He is literally in the driver's seat. they need 51 votes in the senate. Rand, Lee, and Cruz have some serious pull right now.
There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

“I don’t think that there will be any curtailing of Donald Trump as president,” he said. "He controls the media, he controls the sentiment [and] he controls everybody. He’s the one who will resort to executive orders more so than [President] Obama ever used them." - Ron Paul

    God bless the Paul's.

loved his pivot at the end to help those who aren't covered by this, we is getting far better at explaining this stuff in a way that does not seem crazy to the typical Fox News viewer.

Yes, whatever they try to pass will have to go through them.

If a bill passes the Senate, it will be less conservative than the one that passed the house. They'll have to water down the bill to get the support of Collins, Murkowski, Portman, and others. Then they'll pass it with a 50-50 tie with only Rand and Mike Lee voting against it.

    How about Cruz?

...not that he's disinclined to folding, but he's probably disinclined to be seen folding.

I think he'll probably end up voting for it. He said he was open to supporting the last bill. He didn't just outright oppose it.

The camel is sticking its nose under the tent with this bill. The creation of the large federal money pool for distribution to the states (claimed for preexisting conditions and costs for people not covered) looks like the first concrete step toward setting up the single payer framework.

That was the plan all along.

Listen, if you're a politician, there is nothing better than a single-payer system. You have total control of people's health. You can fundraise off of it, use it as a wedge issue, promise to "fix" the problems with it...

"And now that the legislators and do-gooders have so futilely inflicted so many systems upon society, may they finally end where they should have begun: May they reject all systems, and try liberty; for liberty is an acknowledgment of faith in God and His works." - Bastiat

I figure it'll eventually turn into a payroll tax to fund it. The initial $15B fund amount, which actually drops to $10B after a couple years in this bill, will eventually be amended to be unlimited. Payroll tax funded and unlimited will turn it into the healthcare version of social security. Hello socialist healthcare.
