    Pretty good listen.

I love the new format but it was weird watching Tho talk and then a pic of Jeff popping up when he was talking. Hey, a pic of Jeff is better than no Jeff.

Tho Bishop: The Alt-Right in Auburn

The Mises Institute's hometown of Auburn, Alabama, made national news this week as Richard Spencer was allowed to speak on the university's campus following a court ruling. The event was a win for free speech, but also revealed Spencer's affinity for socialism and the state. Instead of being a dangerous "thought criminal", is Richard Spencer really just a naïve statist? Of course, the best way to win in the battle of ideas is not to simply ignore or censor those you disagree with, and there is no need for libertarians to run from topics such as nation and culture. As demonstrated by scholars such as Mises, Rothbard, and Hoppe, these ideas are in no way at odds with liberty and individualism, and are best preserved by decentralizing power and grounding society in a respect for private property rights.

I missed this in the news.

Against its wishes, Auburn hosts white nationalist Richard Spencer

My comment here focuses on the spoken word intro/outro:

It's total amateur hour. It shouldn't be very difficult to find someone to speak a couple of lines who can actually speak in that octave, rather than have someone attempt to do it out of range.

So advocates of liberty must reject incremental approaches and fight boldly for bedrock principles.
    The epitome of libertarian populism

Very cogent analysis. Anyone who is scared of Richard Spencer is a fool. The guy is a troll and a media whore and thats about it.

Yes, thank God that the universities are appendages of the state such that they have ceded control of their campuses to federal judges...

    Three cheers for liberty! (?)

...except the NatSoc's concept of nation and culture is coercive from top to bottom, indifferent to property rights, indisputably unlibertarian. True, we don't need to "run" from these ideas, we need to positively criticize them, (not tacitly endorse them with*wink*wink* articles like this). For shame LvMI. Your namesake, whom Mr. Spencer would presumably have wanted to deport (perhaps back to the country from which he was driven by a similar gang of hoodlums) would not be pleased.

Have you listened to him? Not exactly a powerful or inspiring message.
