To your point, over-lubrication is indeed a real issue. Too much Astroglide and I can't feel a damn thing... Using the proper amount, and not too much, is essential!

This is what I use. You should probably heat up the greasy parts with a heatgun because the Millitec will work itself into the grain of the metal when heated to an appropriate temp.
