I bet the 1909 Pirates would be fun to see .
A's pitcher Daniel Mengden threw a 118 pitch 2 hit complete game shutout today at the Phillies . This is quite an accomplishment for them as they have been the worst road team in the American league this season ( 23 - 49 ) .
The three American League teams with the youngest avg roster age ( 27 ) all have the worst records . A's , Tigers and White Sox .
Jed Lowrie with the Grand Slam to move that batting avg to 280 .
Having won 9 of 12 the A's have a chance to pick up win # 70 next outing . Been better if that was # 86 or so ........ all they had to do was win half of those 21 one run loss games March through August and they would be in a playoff spot now .
A's finishing strong , won 13 of 16 have three at home where they are 45 - 33 for the season .
Okay, I've been out the loop lately. So the Dodgers end up finishing strong. Astros win over 100 games. Twins finish with the exact same record in '87, which is when they won it all. Hmmm.
Teams I'll root for:
Cleveland
Arizona
Colorado
Teams I'll root against:
Boston
NY
Washington
Cubs
'Stros doing better in post-season, but still seem hapless. So I don't care about them.
I'll root for the Dodgers if they play MN, but Scully has to do the series.

That would be awesome. As a little girl summer nights were the fragrance of eucalyptus and orange blossoms and the sound of Vin Scully coming through the transistor radio under my pillow.mI'll root for the Dodgers if they play MN, but Scully has to do the series.

Houston Astros first team to win pennant in NL and now AL, to face LA Dodgers
Houston is a good team. I think this could be one of the best series ever. It would be great if they could get Vin Scully to come out of retirement and call the home games.
