Its not even sad that McCain said that, its sad that he thinks people take him seriously enough for him to even think it carries any meaning to anybody in this country.

    This is actually funny.
The essential English leadership secret does not depend on particular intelligence. Rather, it depends on a remarkably stupid thick-headedness. The English follow the principle that when one lies, one should lie big, and stick to it. They keep up their lies, even at the risk of looking ridiculous.

But that was the HoR. Rand is isolated in the Senate with a few others.
“Force the normies into taking sides. At the moment they are just like "meh, I am minding my own business" retreating culturally into their private bubbles and "safe-spaces" since they don't understand what is going on. When the actual "us vs them" starts, they will be forced to fight or they'll die.” - Anonymous Poster

"Courageous" politics was the most avoided kind, in the series "Yes, Minister"

Rand really is threading the needle there. Maybe they let him stay just for the optics - you know so it looks like there's some kind of democratic debate.

I don't know. He has a tendency to make the neocons look stupid.

He's there because they can't take him out in a primary. He's there because McConnell needed Rand's support to win re-election.

    * Enforce Border Security – America should be guarding her own borders and enforcing her own laws instead of policing the world and implementing UN mandates.

    * No Amnesty - The Obama Administration’s endorsement of so-called “Comprehensive Immigration Reform,” granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants, will only encourage more law-breaking.

    * Abolish the Welfare State – Taxpayers cannot continue to pay the high costs to sustain this powerful incentive for illegal immigration. As Milton Friedman famously said, you can’t have open borders and a welfare state.

    * End Birthright Citizenship – As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be granted U.S. citizenship, we’ll never be able to control our immigration problem.
