So many ways to go with this. First, as you may know I am a second hand thrift store shopper. I rarely buy anything new. I used to allow myself two guilty pleasures. One was full service gasoline, and the other was Stephen King books. I thought he lost a bit of his edge as the years went on but churning out content like he does/did isn't easy.

Then two things happened. First: The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. That book should have either been a short story or simply remained an idea in a notebook. Second, he's a progressive socialist pig.

So since he's apparently run out of fresh ideas for scary scripts, he's going to rehash It. Seems about right.

They are my 6yr old's favorite books right now (all the books by these same guys). So the movie timing is perfect.

I will see it just because I was a huge fan of the book and the original film with Tim Curry as the clown.... Not sure they can top that though. The only thing that pissed me off was at the end I was like... "A freaking spider, seriously??"

The original was a mini-series and ran 197 minutes. Even at that length here is a review that I agree with....

While the acting in this version of Stephen King's It, is for the most past good, (who can argue with Tim Curry as the clown), it none the less was stripped of a lot of its themes to be put to television. It follows the general premise of the book but omits huge sections of the occurrences that happen to the children, some of which are vitally important to the character development and plot. We lose some of the most beautiful aspects to their relationships this way. Also, the structure of the novel, which although overwhelming, is supremely successful, and is again lost in the film. While they could have made it much worse, I must urge people to read the book first. It's scarier, deeper, more complex, and a far better story.
I just don't see how it can be compressed into a movie and still be very true to the book.

So he thinks he's going to scare us with a Trump in drag movie?

I watched it to see if I was mean, too. I am, btw.

Why did I keep watching? I knew that damn clown was going to pop up. Why is it when you know what's going to happen but you still scream? I did. I screamed. I'm not ashamed. That's what sane people do when you see a creepy clown in a storm drain. That's all I plan on watching.

Ok, I went and saw it. Just because DW is a big king fan and really wanted to see it and she promised to sneak a bottle of booze into the theatre in her purse.

By getting rid of every bit of suspense. I don't like scary movies and this one "It" was not scary. Why? Because there was absolutely no suspense or foreplay it was just one "scary" scene after another until you got desensitized to it all. The only suspenseful part was the very beginning with the storm drain and you knew that was coming anyways. Its like all TV and movies nowadays are designed for people with ADD.
In short the movie "It" was, meh.

Well, I enjoyed IT even though the pacing of the movie in the first half was really slow. I kind of enjoyed the surrealness of Pennywise as an antagonist like during the projector scene.
