I took him to mean that the mandate would be retained but the fine would be paid to the insurance companies instead of the IRS.

LOL what if he can get them all to vote for repeal and when the replacement bill comes up the Freedom Caucus says nevermind we're not voting for any replacement.
“I don’t think that there will be any curtailing of Donald Trump as president,” he said. "He controls the media, he controls the sentiment [and] he controls everybody. He’s the one who will resort to executive orders more so than [President] Obama ever used them." - Ron Paul

Yeah, he didn't even bother to respond to Kinzinger statement, instead he drops some truth bombs- yes there is such a thing as Big Government Republicans

Fox news interviewed Paul Ryan during the 6PM hour.
Ryan says Rand is wrong ("publicity stunt" "things he described are not accurate") and the way they're writing the bill is normal, and they still want to "repeal and relace". (If anyone finds a tube, maybe you can post it?)

UPDATE Just heard - Rand coming up on foxnews ("The First 100 Days") during the 7PM hour to rebut Paul Ryan.

Paul Ryan wants to repeal Obamacare and replace it with ACA

I am betting a lot of GOP and Democrats in Congress are being pushed by the insurance lobbyists to make sure they aren't left hanging.

Copier by his side, Rand Paul continues quixotic hunt for Obamacare replacement bill

    http://www.kentucky.com/news/politic...136312783.html

He is, Rand, Rand Paul of Kentucky

His destiny calls and he will go.

With all due respect to the song, “Man of La Mancha,” U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky may be vying for the Don Quixote Search Award for his high-profile effort to secure a copy of the U.S. House Republicans’ replacement bill for Obamacare.

Paul, a Republican from Bowling Green, has grabbed national headlines this week in trying to track down the draft bill to replace the federal Affordable Care Act successfully pushed by former President Obama.

Republicans are arguing whether to repeal the entire act or keep some of its popular provisions like allowing children to stay on their parents’ health insurance until 26 and guaranteeing coverage for people with preexisting conditions.

Paul has suspicions that the draft contains too many elements of Obamacare.

His spokeswoman, Kelsey Cooper, said late Friday that Paul “thinks this should be an open, transparent process and there should be full repeal as promised. The leaks of parts of the plan seem to be Democrat ideas renamed and would indeed be Obamacare-Lite.”

Cooper said Paul “would oppose anything that isn’t real repeal.”

On Thursday, Paul went to the House section of the Capitol to ask for the secret draft. He was armed with his own copy machine to record it but was rebuffed by a staffer.

On Friday, Paul continued his search, Tweeting frequently about his frustration. Now, the copier even has its own Twitter handle, @randpaulcopier, at one point Tweeting: “If you’re leaving your Congressional office (you know you are, it’s 5pm on Friday) try to find the secret location on ur way out. Send tips!”

Uh no.... this is a BRILLIANT P.R. move designed to bring attention to what Rand has obviously found out is complete horse$#@!. They are making Romneycare behind the scenes.

We should all call are Senators and demand they strike out the penalty that lets health insurance companys charge you 30 or 130% higher premiums for a year if you drop insurance for more than 2 months. Some reports it 30% others say it's 130%.

Rand is doing a great job trying to bring light to our cause with his media appearances but they are also telling. Originally he was insisting on repeal, but more importantly replace with his reform bill that would open up the market. They attacked him for not wanting to just fast track the full repeal and wanting to replace to fix the market some. Now he does not mention replace, he is just arguing for a full repeal like that which they claimed he wasn't for in their earlier attacks and now they attack him for being dramatic and not working with the party.

Clearly Rand knows what's happening, that's why he is changing tactics, but it does not look promising I think he is losing against the establishment republicans who seem to have Trumps support.

Well they only attacked him for being dramatic because he pulled a dramatic publicity stunt. Rand knew this was an uphill fight, we all know by now less government doesn't just "happen". Its very unfortunate because Rand's plan would've turned Trump into a hero....

Bannon should know Rand's plan is the best, what the hell is going on. It does appear Trump has his own plan outside of the Paul Ryan plan.

Wasn't Obamacare a 2000 page bill? Does this bill repeal 1900 pages of legislation and many more entered into the Code of Federal Regulations?
