    Scott Pruitt, longtime adversary of EPA, confirmed to lead the agency

    Scott Pruitt, who as Oklahoma’s attorney general spent years suing the Environmental Protection Agency over its efforts to regulate various forms of pollution, was confirmed Friday as the agency’s next administrator.

    Pruitt cleared the Senate by a vote of 52-46.

    The vote came after Democrats held the Senate floor for hours overnight and through the morning to criticize Pruitt as a pawn of the fossil-fuel industry and to push for a last-minute delay of his confirmation. Part of their argument was an Oklahoma judge’s ruling late Thursday that Pruitt’s office must turn over thousands of emails related to his communication with oil, gas and coal companies. The judge set a Tuesday deadline for the release of the emails, which a nonprofit group had been seeking for more than two years.

    Republicans pressed forward with the afternoon vote, saying Pruitt had been thoroughly vetted in recent months and calling on Democrats to end what Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) called “a historic level of obstruction” in holding up Trump administration nominees.

    [On eve of confirmation vote, judge orders EPA nominee to release thousands of emails]

    Pruitt’s confirmation marked a serious defeat for environmental advocacy groups, which wrote letters, waged a furious social media campaign, lobbied members of Congress, paid for television ads and sponsored a series of public protests to keep the Oklahoman from taking the reins of EPA.

    Don't know about that. Republicans were pretty good at delaying Obama nominees too.

    Good.

    If there is one single agency that needs a smack down more than any other, it is EPA.

    I think some of the enthusiasm in this thread is short sighted.

    Instead of regulations which favor "green energy" and "environment" we're going to see regulations which favor "big oil" and "big coal" absolving polluters of responsibility and encouraging regulatory capture which hurt small business.

    This development is not going to lead to a smack down or dissolution of the EPA but rather a move towards making it more of a rubber stamp institution for entitlements to cause externalities without consequence.

    Environmental issues should be handled by courts on a local level when victims raise allegations; not regulations from DC; regardless of which industries those regulations might favor.

    'We endorse the idea of voluntarism; self-responsibility: Family, friends, and churches to solve problems, rather than saying that some monolithic government is going to make you take care of yourself and be a better person. It's a preposterous notion: It never worked, it never will. The government can't make you a better person; it can't make you follow good habits.' - Ron Paul 1988

    Lead this unconstitutional agency to the cemetery. Not just this parasitical EPA, but FDA, FAA, and other bums.

    The goal for both Big Oil and the so-called green energy is Carbon Tax. Just another vehicle to fund the United Nations global government.

    Actually they weren't. Obama had more nominees confirmed 3 days into office than Trump has confirmed to this point.

    And most Obama nominees did not vote purely on party lines. Numerous Republicans crossed on every pick. The Democrats are obstructing candidates that are in many cases not very controversial. Betsy DeVos is not a controversial pick for a Republican President.

    Senate Confirmation Hearings to Begin Without All Background Checks

    WASHINGTON — As Senate Republicans embark on a flurry of confirmation hearings this week, several of Donald J. Trump’s appointees have yet to complete the background checks and ethics clearances customarily required before the Senate begins to consider cabinet-level nominees.

    Republicans, who are expected to hold up to five hearings on Wednesday alone, say they simply want to ensure that the new president has a team in place as soon as possible. “I believe all the president-elect’s cabinet appointments will be confirmed,” Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the majority leader, said.

    But Democrats are calling for the process to be slowed and for the hearings to be spread out. That, they say, would allow more time to vet the nominees. “Our first overarching focus is getting tax returns and ethics forms,” said Senator Amy Klobuchar, Democrat of Minnesota.

    In a letter to Senators Chuck Schumer of New York and Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, the leader of the Office of Government Ethics, Walter M. Shaub Jr., said on Friday that “the announced hearing schedule for several nominees who have not completed the ethics review process is of great concern to me.”

    He said the packed schedule had put “undue pressure” on the office to rush its reviews of the nominees and he knew of no other occasion in the office’s four decades when the Senate had held a confirmation hearing before the review was completed.

    Mr. Schumer responded on Saturday by saying that the letter had made clear that the Trump transition team colluded with Senate Republicans to “jam through” the nominees. Several of the nominees are millionaires or billionaires and have vast webs of financial interests that must be untangled.

    The Trump transition team issued a statement on Saturday evening defending its handling of the nomination process.

    Richard W. Painter, a law professor at the University of Minnesota who served as chief ethics counsel to President George W. Bush, said he thought none of the nominees could receive a full vote on the Senate floor before the vetting was complete. Norman Eisen, Mr. Obama’s ethics counsel in his first term, said the paperwork delays were “totally unheard-of.”

    The status of the background checks and ethical clearances can change by the day. Republicans say they expect the missing documents to be submitted for all the nominees eventually.

    OK, now why were they delayed? Lynch is perhaps the most corrupt AG in the history of the nation... Oh wait, Holder... Perhaps there was valid reason for the obstruction? Just thinking aloud.

    ETA: I afforded you the benefit of assuming your response was built from credible information. It now appears that has not been the case.

    Also, my use of "obstruction", above, was too generous. There can be very valid reasons for not confirming a prospective cabinet member.

    I would also note that it is the Democrats who have set the "obstruction" precedent by openly and idiotically admitting that this is what they are doing.

    Perhaps I am wrong, but what I see here is possibly a set up by the "left" for precipitating conditions leading to what is tantamount to civil war. Perhaps it is just their ignorant posturing in their lame attempts at showing the fellow progressive dullards with whom they side how wonderful and bold and dedicated and selfless they are, leading the way in the "good fight". It's hard to tell with people like this what it is that is really going on. But at the end of the day, if those identifying as "progressive" or "liberal" get it in their heads to make a massive strike against the peace of the land, they will find out in short order just how out-classed they are in the terms which they presume to set and seem to think they dominate.

    These people have been tolerated by virtue of the peaceable nature of the very people they claim as to intolerant and overall inferior to themselves. One cannot concoct this brand of hubris even in the wildest fictions, and yet here are these nitwitted infants, growing in numbers and the dangers they pose to the rest of is. They are now a likely majority. Therefore, I must hope and pray that they ill-advisedly (for them) choose the nookyool'r option. Americans of good cloth will probably never initiate the actions needed to remove the cancer from the land. Therefore, let the cancer do the work that the good people of this country will rise in defense of that which merits it. I feel a new thread coming one. Just a moment...

    The majority of those people were nominated shortly after Obama and the Bushes won and confirmed by the time they took office or immediately after.

    Pruitt for instance was nominated the first week of December or maybe even in late November. That was around 70 days ago which would have made him one of the longest confirms on that list.

    Assuming all this, then what do these numbers mean? It would appear they constitute deceit of some sort. It would not surprise me because Obama basically got everything he wanted... save perhaps nuking Charleston SC.

    Speaking of that, does anyone have any opinion that rumor?

    Here's one article on the matter - it even refers to our very own Ron Paul:

    Obama Ousts Top Officers After Nuke Explodes In Ocean Instead Of Charleston

    By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers

    A shocking new Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) report circulating in the Kremlin today states that President Barack Obama, while in a rage, ousted four of the United States top ranking military officers after they refused to detonate a nuclear device “in/near” Charleston, South Carolina this past week and, instead, exploded it off the Atlantic Coast.

    According to this report, Strategic Missile Forces Command (SMF) notified both President Putin and the General Staff this past Tuesday (8 October) that at 01:58:11 GMT/UTC an atomic device was exploded in the seabed off the US Atlantic Ocean, barely 1,000 km (620 miles) from Charleston, causing a 4.5 magnitude earthquake measurement that SMF experts equate to being a 1-kiloton yield, which is equal to the power of 1,000 tons of TNT.

    This report notes that SMF experts are able in differentiate an earthquake from an atomic blast in that in the former the ground starts shaking slowly as plates slide against each other, and then the seismic activity slow picks up as the ground really starts to move. In an atomic explosion scenario, however, the initial blast is extremely powerful, and the subsequent shaking of the ground grows progressively less severe as was the case with the 8 October blast.

    The particular atomic device used, this report continues, was a B61-11 Nuclear Bomb Low-Yield Earth-Penetrating Nuclear Weapon, otherwise known as a “mini nuke” which was deployed by the Clinton administration in the post-Cold-War era, but had been rejected for deployment by Presidents Carter, Reagan, and Bush.

    The B61-11 can penetrate and detonate below the earth's surface, creating a massive shock wave capable of destroying underground targets. In tests the bomb penetrates only 20 feet into dry earth, even when dropped from altitudes above 40,000 feet. But even this shallow penetration before detonation allows a much higher proportion of the explosion to transfer into ground shock relative to a surface burst.

    Critical to note, this report says, are that many warnings to this atomic blast were given prior it 8 October, including to the highly influential Infowars.com website who on 3 September reported:

    “A high level source inside the military has now confirmed to us that Dyess Air Force base is actively moving nuclear warheads to the East Coast of the United States in a secret transfer that has no paper trail.
    According to the high level military source, who has a strong record of continually being proven correct in deep military activity, the Dyess Air Force Commander authorized unknown parties to transfer the nuclear warheads to an unknown location that has been reported to be South Carolina, where the warheads will then be picked up and potentially utilized.”

    Many other reports of an impending “event” engineered by the Obama regime to cause chaos in the United States we had, likewise, reported on in our reports Pentagon Warns To Expect “Radical” Change In US Government Soon and Obama Retreats To Secret Bunker As “Big Event” Draws Near.

    In the aftermath of the Obama regimes failed false flag nuclear attack on Charleston, GRU analysts in this report say, was the Presidents unprecedented ousting of Americans top two military nuclear commanders, US Navy Vice Admiral Tim Giardina and US Air Force Major General Michael Carey, and two of the US Marines top officers, Major General Charles M. Gurganus and Major General Gregg A. Sturdevant.

    Admiral Giardina and General Carey, this report says, were ousted by Obama due to their being the officers responsible for leaking the information about this impending nuclear attack on Charleston to Generals Gurganus and Sturdevant, who in turn began leaking this information to various global intelligence sources, including Infowars.com and France’s highly respected dedefensa.org.

    While Admiral Giardina and General Carey were the first to note Obama’s transferring of nuclear weapons to Charleston outside of the normal chain of command, GRU experts say in this report, Generals Gurganus and Sturdevant were tasked with leading US Marine troops from Camp Lejeune in North Carolina to begin the implementation of martial law after this false flag attack had taken place.

    Equally important to note, this report continues, is that a further warning of this Obama regime false flag attack on Charleston was given this past August by South Dakota Senator Sheldon R. Songstad who warned of the unprecedented actions being taken in FEMA Region III (which includes Washington D.C.) in preparation for it, and included:

    “Nine-week training course for UN Peacekeepers in CONUS to learn Urban Warfare, English, and US weapons systems beginning 4th week of July for 386,000 troops to be completed by October 1st;
    $11 million in antibiotics to be delivered to FEMA region III by October 1st ordered by CDC;
    FEMA purchase orders for over $14.2 million for MREs and heater meals to be delivered to Region III by October 1st;
    FEMA purchase orders for 22 million pouches of emergency water to be delivered to region III by October 1st;
    FEMA purchase orders for $13.6 million for MREs and heater meals to be delivered to Austin by October 1st;
    2800 MRAPs must be delivered to DHS by October 1st

    US Senator Lindsay Graham further warned South Carolinians about the threat of a “terrorist nuclear attack” on the same day that Infowars.com warned that high level military intel revealed to them that nuclear warheads were being shipped to South Carolina from a major Texas air force base under an “off the record” black ops transfer.
    While the predictable US propaganda media organs loyal to Obama have reported that these military officers firings were due to incompetence, gambling issues, and (maybe) alcoholism, this GRU report notes that these “pathetic excuses” are to beyond belief to give credence to as these four distinguished officers were “beyond reproach” and held the highest security clearances anyone could hold in the United States.

    Even though this report doesn’t speculate on what Obama’s next move will be after his failure to nuke Charleston, it does grimly note that the former Presidential candidate and US Congressman Ron Paul has added his voice this week to those warning the American people of an impending state of martial law and economic collapse being engineered around them.
