AZ Bill to Force Passengers to Carry ID or Become Criminals

Totalitarian Comrade Anthony Kern has introduced bill to force passengers in a motor vehicle to carry identification papers or risk 4 months in jail.
    http://www.12news.com/mb/news/local/...bill/398866581

"You could go to jail for four months if you get caught without an ID as a passenger in a car if a new law proposal passes.
Rep. Anthony Kern (R-Dist. 20) introduced HB 2305 this week. ... Current law only requires the driver of a vehicle to carry a drivers license, ...

If this bill passes, a passenger would also be required to have evidence of identity. Failure to do so would be a class 2 misdemeanor, which allows for up to four months in jail by current state law. ... bill proposal here ..."

His argument is that "Police officers need to know who they are talking to, and we wanted to clarify it in statute for passengers also,"...

Of course Stalinist Anthony Kern's rationale would also apply to anything anywhere. People at a restaurant or shopping for groceries or at a park or on a sidewalk or in the desert or in their own home could all be forced to carry their papers because "police officers need to know who they are talking to.
"Let it not be said that we did nothing." - Dr. Ron Paul. "Stand up for what you believe in, even if you are standing alone." - Sophie Magdalena Scholl
"War is the health of the State." - Randolph Bourne "Freedom is the answer. ... Now, what's the question?" - Ernie Hancock.

What's the chances of this passing?
    There is no spoon.

I would like to think slim. Unfortunately, however, a similar bill was previously passed and then struck down by the court on vagueness. That means the risk is indeed real. This is an attempt to revive the prior bill with clarified language.

'We endorse the idea of voluntarism; self-responsibility: Family, friends, and churches to solve problems, rather than saying that some monolithic government is going to make you take care of yourself and be a better person. It's a preposterous notion: It never worked, it never will. The government can't make you a better person; it can't make you follow good habits.' - Ron Paul 1988

What is the legal definition of a passenger ? ROFLMAO

This law only effects people that are in Arizona via born in USA or legal green card holder, or legal citizen. Illegal aliens will not be subjected to any unconstitutional searches.

This is crazy! In NH, the driver of a law doesn't need to have a DL or learner's permit (which we don't even have in NH). Why should a passenger need to have something like this when even a driver doesn't need this in the #LiveFreeorDie state? Talk about different laws for different states!
