Trump bans EPA employee updates via social media or reporters, no new Contracts or Grants

Trump bans EPA employees from providing updates on social media or to reporters, bars new contracts, grants

... For now, other details about the frozen grants still unclear.
We don’t know whether the freeze affects all existing contracts — worth about $6.4 billion —
or just new grants and contracts.

    The move is likely to be widely felt, though;
in 2013, the EPA awarded $9.6 billion in grants and about $1.4 billion in contracts.
Last year, the total budget was $8.6 billion,
with the money for grants and contracts given to organizations at every level,
from local nonprofits to state governments.

Other actions that Trump took on Monday include instituting a broad hiring freeze for federal government employees.

    MORE

(no more insider tax payer gravy train 'studies' and 'grants' ? BBB-b-but wat about the desert tortoise??? Somebody call a whhhhammmmmmmmbulance. srsly.. dismantling the EPA is the libs sacred cow which has evolved into a 'machine' for an endless stream of 'concerns'.

    MISSION CREEP
Coming out of the '70s we NEEDED some kind of mechanism to raise awareness of the environment. I believe that.
Now? It's become a monster looking for more and more 'concerns' and has morphed into what Government has always been good at: excess and waste. )

    USDA also given blackout order.

Not a good sign when agencies start going dark. Regardless of opinion of the EPA, shutting down transparency in any form is a red flag. Lots of changes being made out of the view of the general public.

They have never yet and they never will have the sense to reflect that this hobby-horse is a manifest violation of the most important law of nature, which has established from the very creation of the world one unit unlike another and precisely for the purpose of instituting individuality."- A Quote From Some Old Book

I'm pretty sure I read in another article that this is pretty common with all new administrations as they temporarily put communications on hold until their new appointees/staff get on top of everything.

They are free to find another job if they so desire, where they can FedBook and $#@!ter to their heart's content.

Government regulations and legal liability place very strict limits on what I can post about with regard to company operations.

I get that. But communications from these entities are more disinformation than information so I am torn.

Liberals are going batchit about this. They think that scientists are being silenced. Even when I explain to them that this is not the case they still won't believe me. Same chit, different day.
