    Anti-Tobacco idea in Russia

How would you like this idea in Russia just is being pushed by few Duma legislators. That in the future for people who born in 2015, as they reach the age of majority (18) and till ages of their deaths, the sales of tobacco products will be banned. They will be carded and as their IDs will show DOB 2015 and up, no smokes will be sold to them, whether they 18, 21, 50, or even 100.
Fellows here on Ron Paul Forums. I am not kidding, I read several times this proposed law in Russian news sites. How would you like this idea ?

That is not smart for govt . as all those smokes will be sold as black market and the tax money collected will go to the country they are smuggled in from and not to the country they are sold in . Similar to retarded dry counties in the US that border another state . People go over and buy what they wish and the other gets the tax collected .
    Do something Danke

That's right, but it also gives their law enforcement folks something to do. They might make more on fines and prison time than on the taxes that would have been paid.

Those few Duma guys lobby the same law with alcohol for the future. Actually these both insane ideas won't pass, before they might reach President Putin's desk. There is The Article 60 in the Second Amendment of The Constitution of Russian Federation. All citizens who turned age 18 have all basic adult rights in full which must not be infringed. The respect and obedience to the Constitution and law is strictly defended by the vast majority of Duma deputies and the president himself. There few Duma morons tried to abridge citizens rights by attempting to raise the drinking age in Russia to 21 and one time there was an attempt for smoking at 21. All this was crashed. The people were very angry, too. Russia indeed respects her Constitution and law unlike our wicked United States.

It has been the continuous agenda of social controllers for over 100 years.

Nazis were the first to push this $#@!,, those of same ilk still do.
Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.

    such a quandry

to loot the people by tax or fine

'We endorse the idea of voluntarism; self-responsibility: Family, friends, and churches to solve problems, rather than saying that some monolithic government is going to make you take care of yourself and be a better person. It's a preposterous notion: It never worked, it never will. The government can't make you a better person; it can't make you follow good habits.' - Ron Paul 1988

Even if the liberals go with the next step raising drinking age to 25. Young adults ages 18-24 won't stop drinking. They will get alcohol through their older friends and fake IDs.

Then they better raise the military enlistment age. as well.

If you're old enough to die for your country, then you're old enough to have a beer & a smoke.

The Libtards won't raise military and adulthood ages. They want the prejudice to create more chaos. Probably it is a part of conspiracy theory agenda.

Potted tobacco plants will then become quite the rage.

Ban that? People will find the way. They will do for no other reason than you said they couldn't. "$#@! YOU" tends to be a very popular notion with human beings.

I cannot believe someone here actually used that term.

I approach gob-smacked status. Note "approach".
