$129 yearly fee for legal protection in the event you must use lethal force

That's the problem with our current legal system. It costs money to defend yourself, no matter if you are innocent or not.
It could probably be fixed though if they would just say, "If you press charges and lose, you pay the legal fees for the entire dispute."

" Any place I can legally possess a firearm in a life threatening self defense incident " . Sounds like a bargain . That is 3870 in a 30 yr period

Who is the you? The one pressing charges is the govt and they don't give a $#@! if they have to pay the legal fees.

Secondly, having purchased such "insurance" could be used to impugn your character to a jury. Before shouting "BULL$#@!!", bear in mind the nature of the typical prosecutor, who seems to think his job is to charge as many people as possible no matter how unjustly. For them it is largely a game of that with which he can get away in court, or the bargaining bench.

IMO, until such policies are proven over a longer period of time - say 20-30 years - their utility and product safety remain in strong question.

I wonder what the limitations are. I ask because a typical trial may cost the insurer a few tens of thousands of dollars, but what about a case in a state that retains the death penalty, that sentence having been passed, however unjustly? Such cases can go on for decades and cost millions of dollars. Will they pony up for that?

Also note that it says they will protect you when you defend. Who makes the determination on the insurer's side whether one's actions constituted self defense, or something else? What a surprise it would be to find that they have decided you acted illegally, leaving you holding the bag.

There is only one correct way: freedom. All other solutions are non-solutions.

I carry the same thing on my professional licenses.

Not perfect, not the way I would have things, but it is what it is.

I've had prepaid legal plans, and I was happy with it.
