Cuomo starts 2020 campaign with free college for all plan, Sanders supports

    http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local...409503965.html

    Cuomo cost estimate $163 million/year

    but 440,000 students x 7,000 = $3 billion

that is a big difference, and while the Cuomo plan is for families $125,000 only that would be the vast majority, and does not take into account increased demand.

New York City but not the state system used to free, until the 70s and was found to be unaffordable.

Biden will be 78, and would be 86 after 2 terms. Biden could have won this time had he broken with Obama on trade, carrying PA and MI.

surely Cuomo will run, Warren will be too old, as will Sanders. Cuomo is the front runner, mainly because the Dems have no bench. and my prediction is Gabbard will be his VP.

God damn if this man becomes POTUS after I finally get rid of him as Governor I'm not sure what I will do with myself.

all he has to do is flip MI and PA and WI

margins in those states were very close. the free college is a middle class play, as was his bringing Panasonic to upstate. with the right running mate he is very viable

How many students would this effect? Perhaps half the students in the system. That's 220,000 students. How much will it cost per student? I'll go with a conservative $60,000, assuming most of the students will not finish a traditional 4.5 year degree at a university.

220,000 x 60,000 = over 13 billion dollars. NY should easily be able to afford this if it doubles state income taxes and no businesses let any employees go or relocate to a different state. Sounds like a plan

BTW, NY is already the least free state in the nationl overall and specifically for economic freedom. This might lead to NY being the least free place in North America.
