5-10 Robbery Suspects Open Fire On Harris County Deputies From Roof
Harris County, Texas – Harris County Deputies came under fire from an estimated 10 gunmen as they responded to a robbery call Monday night.
Harris County Deputies responded to a call of a shooting and possible home invasion at a residence in the 10100 block of Rosbrook Dr. near Morebrook at around 6 PM Monday night when a teenage girl called police to say that her father was being beaten by armed men. Upon the deputies’ arrival, approximately 5-10 suspects who were on a roof opened fire on them. An unidentified witness told a news source that so many shots were fired that it sounded like fireworks on the Fourth of July.
Deputies awaited backup and surrounded the house. After attempting to call the suspects out of the house, law enforcement sent in a robot and they determined that the suspects were no longer on scene. Prior to the deputies containing the house, the suspects all escaped and are believed to have left the area in a white Jeep and on foot.
The robbery appears to have been targeted. The robbers escaped with around $50,000 in cash, and left behind large quantities of drugs. No law enforcement officers were reportedly hurt, and the only one known to have been injured is the teenager’s father who was being treated for getting beaten. Three children were in the home at the time of the robbery.
