Thread: The rights the government should not have.

The rights the government should not have.

The first one is hypothetical just to get the discussion going:

    • The right to boil you in hot oil. We are civilized and do not torture people,
not sure about the enemy combatants who btw, could be you.

What other rights the government should not have?

Since "government" does not exist in sé, it has no rights. To suggest otherwise is akin to saying that '3' has rights, or referring to those of a vacuum; They are fully senseless statements.

This is a prime example of the power of words. Words form your thoughts. Thoughts form you reality. Therefore, words form your reality. All that needs to be done is to repeat specific words or statements in an incorrect manner such that they alter the thoughts in a desired direction, which in turn alters the reality. Theye know this very well and make use of it daily. The news outlets, for instance, will concoct some new and wholly incorrect usage of, say, a given word. They will repeat this malevolent usage over and over and in time the mental landscape shifts and before you know it, the perceptual reality of people has been altered. Reversing these falsehoods has proven virtually impossible. For one thing, people just don't care, if even they can be lead to accept that they have been lead around by their noses. Their frail, fearful, and dishonest egos refuse to accept the suggestion that they've been taken for a really big ride.

At some point in our history, the false reference to "government's rights" (or "states' rights") was taken up and after a while the notion became normalized in the mind of the average American such that he now accepts this utter, bald-faced lie as truth. That is just how we as a species are wired. Tyrants know how this works and they take advantage of it to devastating effect.

There is only one correct way: freedom. All other solutions are non-solutions.

    What would be alternative?

    State Powers?
    Government Edicts?
    Federal Overreach

How about authority, which is power that's been legitimized in some way (e.g., by a majority vote). It's not to be confused with morality.
We have long had death and taxes as the two standards of inevitability. But there are those who believe that death is the preferable of the two. "At least," as one man said, "there's one advantage about death; it doesn't get worse every time Congress meets."

Authority is lost if it attempts to do something illegitimate, like infringing on basic human rights.

And there you have it. Clear and concise.
