Who was the greatest Secretary of State in US history?

Who was the greatest Secretary of State in US history?

I vote for James Madison, Secretary of State under Thomas Jefferson, 1801-1809.

    Accomplishments:

    1) Louisiana Purchase
    2) Lewis & Clark Expedition
    3) Zubulon Pike Expedition discovered Pike's Peak
    4) Winner of the case Marbury vs. Madison
    5) Delayed start of the War of 1812, while US population & economy grew larger
    6) Served two full terms
    7) Used term of office as launching pad for landslide presidential election of 1808

    Honorable mention

John Quincy, who help James Monroe co-author the Monroe Doctrine.

    Worst

Hillary Clinton, whose biggest "accomplishments" were Benghazi and running SoS office off a private server.

    Hillary, she's for the children.
“[T]he enshrinement of constitutional rights necessarily takes certain policy choices off the table.” (Heller, 554 U.S., at ___, 128 S.Ct., at 2822.)

How long before "going liberal" replaces "going postal"?

Seward because he bought Alaska, with no help from Johnson

George Marshall should at least be on the list, if Truman had listened to him there would be no Israel, no ISIS, no Iraq wars, and hundreds of billions in aid saved. plus the cost of the wars

He opposed it, but the bill still passed anyway.

    in it ?

    Yeah, heck . . . she caused it - encouraged it -
thought it would give her some foreign policy experience "credibility" as a mastermind of regime change.
And that is why she needed the private non-.gov server for official State Dept. business - which she could have then deleted against a subpoena from Congress.

She did not want her communications as part of the National Archives or known to historians.
I just read another editorial Friday - in UColorado student paper - again with the "She didn't do anything wrong" theme *barf*

From John Jay to Condi Rice . . . what a list - many with positive name recognition at least.

I'll need some more learnin' before I cast my one vote in the poll tho.
