I assume you mean Kim Dotcom. I would guess because Wikileaks doesn't reveal it's sources and Kim was respecting that but due to mounting pressure, perhaps Assange gave Dotcom a green light to reveal what he knows. Wild guess but seems logical. Assange all but said it, in a very cagey manner. With Kim giving proof that takes Wikileaks off the hook. It's a tough situation because not revealing sources is so critical for Wikileaks but with Seth Rich dead and his WL contact also dead (natural causes) and with this being a murder and cover-up, it's appropriate, imho.

Newt Gingrich Spreads Debunked Story About Murdered DNC Staffer

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich regurgitated a baseless claim on Sunday that former Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich was assassinated after giving thousands of Democratic party emails to WikiLeaks.

Gingrich suggested police and the FBI have covered up Rich’s July 10 death in an effort to pin the DNC hack on the Russian government.

“We have this very strange story now, this young man who worked for the Democratic National Committee who apparently was assassinated at 4 in the morning, having given WikiLeaks something like 23,000 — I’m sorry, 53,000 emails and 17,000 attachments, nobody’s investigating that,” Gingrich said in an interview on “Fox & Friends.”

The conspiracy theory that Rich stole DNC emails has been floating around ever since he was killed in what police say is a robbery gone wrong. But nobody has been arrested in the case, a fact which has stoked speculation that Rich, a data analyst at the DNC, had something to do with the email dump. (RELATED: FBI Not Investigating Seth Rich Murder)

WikiLeaks released nearly 20,000 DNC emails two weeks after Rich was killed.

The theory picked up steam again this week when a private investigator named Rod Wheeler told a Washington, D.C. news station that Rich’s laptop contained the emails that were passed to WikiLeaks.

Rich’s family quickly disputed Wheeler’s claims and ordered him to “cease and desist” discussing the case. Wheeler, a former homicide detective and Fox News contributor, recanted his story and claimed he was misrepresented by a reporter.

Gingrich appears to have been unaware of all of that when he seized on Wheeler’s claim to discredit the intelligence community’s assessment that Russian hackers stole the DNC emails and gave them to WikiLeaks.

“It turns out it wasn’t the Russians, it was this young guy who, I suspect, was disgusted by the corruption of the Democratic National Committee,” Gingrich asserted.

“He’s been killed, and apparently nothing serious has been done to investigate his murder.”

Gingrich said he hopes that Robert Mueller, the special counsel in the Russia probe, will look into Rich’s death.

“So, I’d like to see how Mueller is going to define what his assignment is, and if it’s only narrowly Trump, the country will not learn what it needs to learn about foreign involvement in American politics.”

Sean Hannity Continues to Cover Debunked Seth Rich Conspiracy Ignoring Family’s Pleas
    by Joe DePaolo | 11:41 pm, May 18th, 2017

Thursday night, Sean Hannity again reported on the debunked conspiracy theory that DNC staffer Seth Rich was murdered over suspected ties to Wikileaks.

The new report comes just days after a Rich family spokesperson condemned those reporting on the killing for “manipulat[ing] the legacy of a murder victim in order to forward their own political agenda.”

“There is a special place in hell for people” who report on the story in that manner, the spokesman said.

In his segment Thursday, Hannity questioned the story of the Washington Metro Police Department, that Rich was the victim of a robbery attempt gone sideways.

“Does it make sense you shoot somebody in the back and the whole narrative has been they’ve been investigating a robbery.” Hannity said. “But they didn’t take the wallet, they didn’t take the necklace, they didn’t take the phone, and they didn’t take the watch? Does that sound like a robbery to you? Because it doesn’t sound at all like a robbery to me.”

The Thursday segment on Rich comes just hours after Hannity called on the media to leave the grieving family of former Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes alone on the day of his death.

Hannity’s request was perceived by many on Twitter to be ironic, given the repeated pleas from Seth Rich’s parents that conservative outlets not spread conspiracy theories on their son’s death.

Why would Assange need Kim dotcom to reveal what Assange already knew? What's the difference if Assange says Rich was the leak vs Kim dotcom saying it?
Off the hook for withholding the name of a murdered leaker? Once he got murdered the game changed imo. I don't think it matters anymore especially when that info goes to motive for hillary involving herself in Richs' murder.

I think I explained in the post you quoted. Wikileaks has a policy of not revealing sources. Kim Dotcom can because he's not Wikileaks but is privy to the information.

Still doesn't answer the question on why he waited until now. Plus if wikileaks gives their blessing for Kim dotcom to "out" Rich it's basically the same thing as wiki doing it.

As long as they deny the identity of their sources then I am sure sources will continue to provide wiki with intel. I think Kim was waiting for things to happen naturally and then when they did not he started to put things into motion. I hope there is justice for Seth Rich and this just isn't a political dog and pony show.

We’re Seth Rich’s parents. Stop politicizing our son’s murder.
By Mary Rich and Joel Rich May 23 at 6:04 PM

The writers are the parents of Seth Rich, who was killed in the District in 2016.

Imagine living in a nightmare that you can never wake up from. Imagine having to face every single day knowing that your son was murdered. Imagine you have no answers — that no one has been brought to justice and there are few clues leading to the killer or killers. Imagine that every single day, with every phone call you hope that it’s the police, calling to tell you that there has been a break in the case.

Imagine that instead, every call that comes in is a reporter asking what you think of a series of lies or conspiracies about the death. That nightmare is what our family goes through every day.

Our beloved son Seth Rich was gunned down in the early hours of July 10, 2016, in his Washington, D.C., neighborhood of Bloomingdale. On the day he was murdered, Seth was excited about a new job he had been offered on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Seth had dedicated his life to public service, and he told us that he wanted to work on the campaign’s effort to expand voter participation because he loved our country dearly and believed deeply in the promise of democratic engagement. Seth had been walking around, calling friends, family and his girlfriend, pondering the broader picture of what the job change would mean. He wondered how he would pick up and move to New York City for four months, the strain that might put on his relationships, and how it would all affect the life he had built for himself in Washington.

The circumstances of what happened next are still unclear. We know that Seth was abruptly confronted on the street, that he had been on the phone and quickly ended the call. We also know that there were signs of a struggle, including a watchband torn when the assailants attempted to rip it off his wrist. Law-enforcement officials told us that Seth’s murder looked like a botched robbery attempt in which the assailants — after shooting our son — panicked, immediately ran and abandoned Seth’s personal belongings. We have seen no evidence, by any person at any time, that Seth’s murder had any connection to his job at the Democratic National Committee or his life in politics. Anyone who claims to have such evidence is either concealing it from us or lying.

Still, conservative news outlets and commentators continue, day after painful day, to peddle discredited conspiracy theories that Seth was killed after having provided WikiLeaks with emails from the DNC. Those theories, which some reporters have since retracted, are baseless, and they are unspeakably cruel.

We know that Seth’s personal email and his personal computer were both inspected by detectives early in the investigation and that the inspection revealed no evidence of any communications with anyone at WikiLeaks or anyone associated with WikiLeaks. Nor did that inspection reveal any evidence that Seth had leaked DNC emails to WikiLeaks or to anyone else. Indeed, those who have suggested that Seth’s role as a data analyst at the DNC gave him access to a wide trove of emails are simply incorrect — Seth’s job was to develop analytical models to encourage voters to turn out to vote. He didn’t have access to DNC emails, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee emails, John Podesta’s emails or Hillary Clinton’s emails. That simply wasn’t his job.

Despite these facts, our family’s nightmare persists. Seth’s death has been turned into a political football. Every day we wake up to new headlines, new lies, new factual errors, new people approaching us to take advantage of us and Seth’s legacy. It just won’t stop. The amount of pain and anguish this has caused us is unbearable. With every conspiratorial flare-up, we are forced to relive Seth’s murder and a small piece of us dies as more of Seth’s memory is torn away from us.

To those who sincerely want to get to the bottom of Seth’s murder, we don’t hold this against you. We don’t think you are monsters, and we don’t think you are terrible people. We know that so many people out there really do care, don’t know what to think and are angry at the lack of answers.

We also know that many people are angry at our government and want to see justice done in some way, somehow. We are asking you to please consider our feelings and words. There are people who are using our beloved Seth’s memory and legacy for their own political goals, and they are using your outrage to perpetuate our nightmare. We ask those purveying falsehoods to give us peace, and to give law enforcement the time and space to do the investigation they need to solve our son’s murder.

President of watchdog group Judicial Watch, Tom Fitton discussed the controversy surrounding the murder of DNC staffer, Seth Rich.

Fitton said that Judicial Watch has filed Freedom of Information Act requests to the D.C. Police Department and D.C. Mayor for documents pertaining to the Seth Rich murder investigation.

Tom Fitton: “We (Judicial Watch) have filed Freedom of Information requests to the D.C. Police Department and the D.C. Mayor’s office last week. We have an FBI request pending from last year and of course separately we are asking questions of the Federal Freedom of Information Act about the DNC hack itself.”

I hope they get everything. There are a lot of very strange peculiarities in the way it has been handled so far. The official investigators certainly have some explaining to do.

If this is just a random robbery (where nothing was taken) turned assassination style murder as the official story proclaims, then:

    • Why did the police go to Seth's home and steal his laptop and lock it away never to be released? What does that have to do with a completely random robbery?
    • Why has all the body camera footage of the first three responding officers disappeared? Where is it? Release it.
    • Why were his social media accounts wiped?
    • And while they were very particular to go and steal Seth's laptop, why did they not go and get the security camera footage from the bar Seth was at that night?
    • And the route to his home is laden with CCTV cameras. Why did they not go and get the footage from those cameras if it is a random (non) robbery turned assassination style murder. Yet they were sure to go to his home and steal his personal computer.

    CC cameras:

As much as I want to believe Seth Rich was murdered for being the leaker, NO ONE has provided ANYTHING yet. I'm not taking Kim Dotcom's word on anything. That guy is a professional troll.

Julian and or Kim could end this $#@! today if they wanted. They could release proof that 'Panda' is in fact Seth Rich. Kim 'claims' to have proof of this, but I strongly feel he is trolling the media. There is definitely some $#@!ery afoot, but intellectual honesty demands actual evidence and not speculation.

‘ARE WE STILL AIRING THAT SH*T?!’ Fox News Staffers Reportedly Embarrassed by Seth Rich Coverage
    by Aidan McLaughlin | 6:29 pm, May 22nd, 2017

Fox News staffers are embarrassed and angered by the cable news network’s continued coverage of the debunked Seth Rich conspiracy theory, according to The Daily Beast.

The conspiracy — that slain DNC staffer Seth Rich was killed because he gave emails to Wikileaks — received renewed attention last week, after Fox 5 ran a story in which Rod Wheeler, a private investigator and Fox News contributor, claimed to have evidence of communications between Rich and Julian Assange’s website.

A number of right-wing websites — including FoxNews.com, Breitbart and the Drudge Report — ran with the story, which fell apart shortly after it was published, when Wheeler confessed he had no actual evidence to support his claims. Washington D.C. police believe Rich was killed in a botched robbery, and the family has repeatedly asked news outlets to stop exploiting their son’s death for political ends.

But that didn’t stop Fox News from continuing to cover it: Sean Hannity has given breathless coverage to the “Murder Mystery,” and continues to Tweet about the story. Newt Gingrich shamelessly touted the conspiracy on Fox & Friends. Then, on Monday, Geraldo Rivera took to Twitter to announce he will be joining Hannity to discuss Rich’s death on Monday night.

RELATED: What the Hell is Going on with Sean Hannity and the Nutty Seth Rich Conspiracy Theory?!

The Daily Beast reached out to Fox News staffers to see how they felt about their network’s coverage:

The Daily Beast spoke to nearly a dozen reporters, pundits, and hosts inside Fox News who all conveyed the same sentiment: Hannity is “embarrassing” the network, and the promotion of the Rich conspiracy theory is senselessly cruel to a grieving family.

“ARE WE STILL AIRING THAT $#@!?!” one Fox News political reporter, who says they are furious that the conservative cable-news giant is entertaining the conspiracy theory, messaged The Daily Beast when informed of recent coverage.

Other sources at the network who spoke to The Daily Beast on condition of anonymity called the continued coverage “gross” and “heartless.”

Hannity even drew the ire of his fellow opinion pundits at the network, who “expressed disgust at the conspiracy theorizing, using words like ‘absurd’ and ‘unhinged’ to describe Hannity’s antics.”

Julie Roginsky, a Democratic contributor on Fox, today publicly slammed people promoting this conspiracy theory, though she didn’t single out Hannity.
