    Any fans of his?

I have only listened to his self-titled album, but I swear he is the biggest libertarian songwriter there is... He could be a huge socialist for all I know but his songs sure sound libertarian as hell. Can't get enough

Long time fan. I believe he swings progressive politically. I don't really care. He is an excellent song crafter.

One of my favorites is "The Great Compromise." It's not hard to make the connection that he is talking about America instead of a girlfriend. Mine an the DW's theme song is "In spite of ourselves."

"Sam Stone" is an iconic war veterans dirge.

I've never caught him live. I've always wanted to. And the bonus of seeing him in the keys must have made for a memorable show.

Most of his songs mention Jesus.

    Yup..

Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.
