The dollar figure is important, yes but I don't think that's the main purpose of these settlements. It sets the stage for the implosion of the paper markets!

Interesting ZH write-up on DB's evidence turned over to plaintiffs in the silver case. Traders on the big bank metals desks literally laugh between each other over how they manipulate to take out people's stops and coordinate to slam down paper prices. Must read.
