Activists Urge Clinton Campaign to Challenge Election Results in 3 Swing States

Hillary Clinton is being urged by a group of prominent computer scientists and election lawyers to call for a recount in three swing states won by Donald Trump, New York has learned. The group, which includes voting-rights attorney John Bonifaz and J. Alex Halderman, the director of the University of Michigan Center for Computer Security and Society, believes they’ve found persuasive evidence that results in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania may have been manipulated or hacked. The group is so far not speaking on the record about their findings and is focused on lobbying the Clinton team in private.

Last Thursday, the activists held a conference call with Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta and campaign general counsel Marc Elias to make their case, according to a source briefed on the call. The academics presented findings showing that in Wisconsin, Clinton received 7 percent fewer votes in counties that relied on electronic-voting machines compared with counties that used optical scanners and paper ballots. Based on this statistical analysis, Clinton may have been denied as many as 30,000 votes; she lost Wisconsin by 27,000. While it’s important to note the group has not found proof of hacking or manipulation, they are arguing to the campaign that the suspicious pattern merits an independent review — especially in light of the fact that the Obama White House has accused the Russian government of hacking the Democratic National Committee.

According to current tallies, Trump has won 290 Electoral College votes to Clinton’s 232, with Michigan’s 16 votes not apportioned because the race there is still too close to call. It would take overturning the results in both Wisconsin (10 Electoral College votes) and Pennsylvania (20 votes), in addition to winning Michigan’s 16, for Clinton to win the Electoral College. There is also the complicating factor of “faithless electors,” or members of the Electoral College who do not vote according to the popular vote in their states. At least six electoral voters have said they would not vote for Trump, despite the fact that he won their states.

The Clinton camp is running out of time to challenge the election. According to one of the activists, the deadline in Wisconsin to file for a recount is Friday; in Pennsylvania, it’s Monday; and Michigan is next Wednesday. Whether Clinton will call for a recount remains unclear. The academics so far have only a circumstantial case that would require not just a recount but a forensic audit of voting machines. Also complicating matters, a senior Clinton adviser said, is that the White House, focused on a smooth transfer of power, does not want Clinton to challenge the election result. Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri did not respond to a request for comment. But some Clinton allies are intent on pushing the issue. This afternoon, Huma Abedin’s sister Heba encouraged her Facebook followers to lobby the Justice Department to audit the 2016 vote. “Call the DOJ…and tell them you want the votes audited,” she wrote. “Even if it’s busy, keep calling.”

I don't think Hillary Cheaton wants a recount. If anything, she's probably hoping they don't re-examine the voting too closely.

Now, whether or not some Electoral College members might get 'mysteriously disappeared', is another matter.

Her health is terrible and she's got serious LE power building a massive case against her.

I don't like her chances in general.

    LOL!

"Academics" might wonder why Clinton performed better in paper ballot voting.

Silly person! That doesn't make any sense.

Why would the Russians do it that way?

If election rigging is suspected, there should be detailed recounts and audits.

Okay okay guys. What IF.. WHAT IF... the democrats did rig the election, but it is to allow Trump to win.

Then the democrats cry election fraud and demand an investigation which would indicate that votes were flipped to give Trump the win. This would make the republicans/Trump criminals and discredit everyone.

But Michigan only has paper ballots. There can be no cyber-rigging.

I know people say machines are easy to hack, but absentee ballots are a f*king joke.

In Georgia, if you have voted even once before in your life, I.D. is not required when you mail in an absentee ballot. You have to have I.D. if you show up to vote early or vote in person. Sounds pretty easy to exploit mail-in ballots if you ask me.

In fact, my mother here in Georgia went to vote for the first time in a few decades, and she was told by the polling worker that she couldn't be issued a ballot card, because it appeared she already voted. She got the lady to somehow clear her ballot card so she could vote, but the only way someone could have tried to vote for her is by using an absentee ballot. She would have been the ideal person to try to vote for, someone who hasn't voted in forever but has in the past, so she wouldn't need I.D. for a mail-in ballot, and they were probably as surprised as I was to learn she intended to actually vote this year.

There will be no challenge by Clinton. She's scared to even show her face in public right now in light of the child trafficking/pedophile ring findings. Breath easy Trump supporters.

Honest question: Does the Clinton campaign itself have to spearhead a recount request, or can it proceed with enough pressure from outside forcres?

Though I doubt she has to spearhead it, her public support would seem to be a necessary ingredient to be successful. Trump already let Killary know that he was aware of her involvement of child trafficking in Haiti in a very public setting....(just veiled enough that those not in the know prob had no idea what he meant). Those in the know and complicit know exactly what he was talking about. Then there is Pizzagate which he is totally aware of. His Trump Card...lol. Trumps appointed National Security Advisor (General Flynn) even tweeted about Pizzagate...before it was called Pizzagate.

    http://www.renegadetribune.com/will-...edophile-ring/

If this recount gets legs, I suspect Hillary will shut it down because Trumps going to blackmail her with it. In the meantime, never let an opportunity pass for the Dems to get the poor people to donate to their valiant effort...lol.

See Trumps comments starting at 12:30

Full monologue: Donald Trump roasts Hillary Clinton at Al Smith charity dinner

Not sure if this has been posted but this was a Catholic charity event to raise $. Took place on October 20th. Gobsmacked at some of Trumps comments in light of Pizzagate revelations. Whole thing worth listening to but for those in a hurry start at 12:30. He speaks of WikiLeaks emails...and goes on to allude to Hillary taking villages in Haiti. Holy cow.....Trump def taunting her!

“Everyone knows, of course, Hillary’s belief that, 'It takes a village,' which only makes sense, after all, in places like Haiti, where she’s taken a number of them."

That was my first thought as well when I heard this news. If there was voting fraud or if there were tabulation errors, who's to say that they weren't to Clinton's advantage...
