Rand is not President because Trump is still nicely contained within the mainstream of establishment thought. Rand is too far outside of it.
Congratulations to Dr. Paul, looking forward to 2020.
Good speech from Rand. Mostly what we expect, with great lines such as this:
"We must fight to restrain big brother at every turn...to defend liberty, we absolutely must defend the entire bill of rights."

Now for a little constructive advise...
At 5:48 Rand says "to win nationally, the GOP will need to become a bigger, better, bolder party, we need to welcome people of all walks of life, black, white, brown..."
IMHO, this message needs to be modified. It echoes the GOP 2012 Autopsy report, that no doubt McConnell has urged Rand to address as well as he can. The essential message is good, it's the wording and implications that do not work. It's backwards looking, with an implication that the GOP is currently a racist organization, or intentionally excluding people. Be inclusive. Reach out to everyone. Just do it. Say you will work for everyone, especially the regular people.
As an analogy, imagine that a big food chain had a problem where they served food with salmonella, and let's say it happened in 2012. In 2016, you aren't advertising your business by starting out every ad with, yeah we served tainted food, and we need to stop doing that some day.

Glorious speech. So glad we have Rand fighting for us another term.
I hope the first thing that gets done is getting rid of obamacare starting with the forced govt mandate.
