What is it about baked goods that gets people all fired up?
Tempers reached boiling point during a sale of baked goods at the University of Texas last week when the Young Conservatives student group attempted to sell cookies, varying prices according to race.
Asian and white men were charged the most for cookies, while Hispanic women and Native Americans paid the least.
The group argued in a press release that the bake sale was a protest against the university's admissions policy and: 'designed to highlight the insanity of assigning our lives value based on our race and ethnicity, rather than our talents, work ethic, and intelligence.'
Other students and social media users branded the stunt 'racist' and 'insulting.'
