Air Force Chief Foresees Decades More US Wars

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-1...s-more-us-wars

In comments yesterday at a spouse and family forum, Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. David Goldfein discussed the growing number of airmen being deployed abroad for longer periods of time, saying that this problem is going to continue for decades to come.

“We’ve been deploying now for 15 years, we’ve probably got 15, 20 years to go,” Gen. Goldfein warned.

This wasn’t just about the current wars, either, as the general laid out some of the new deployments against new enemies, citing a “resurgent Russia and China” as driving future deployments.
The Air Force says they want a 1:2 deployment time, with airmen spending six months abroad then remaining at home for a year afterwards. Gen. Goldfein insisted the Air Force needs to be more flexible on the matter of combat deployments, saying he thinks there are too many individual deployments and not enough group deployments.

Top military brass have regularly talked up long wars in the future as part of their efforts to get more funding for future conflicts. The difference in yesterday’s comments were very specific timetables, and setting out Russia and China as potential targets in those future conflicts.

This was the situation in 2014... and it's only getting worse...
The 'war on terror' - by design - can never end
    https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...ndless-johnson
Based on the idea of natural rights, government secures those rights to the individual by strictly negative intervention, making justice costless and easy of access; and beyond that it does not go. The State, on the other hand, both in its genesis and by its primary intention, is purely anti-social. It is not based on the idea of natural rights, but on the idea that the individual has no rights except those that the State may provisionally grant him. It has always made justice costly and difficult of access, and has invariably held itself above justice and common morality whenever it could advantage itself by so doing.

This will be great for the economy.

And by the economy, I mean my lockheed stocks.
It's all about taking action and not being lazy. So you do the work, whether it's fitness or whatever. It's about getting up, motivating yourself and just doing it.

    `You can't bomb an ideology."

"The hell you can't. Because we did it. These Muslims are no different than the Imperial Japanese. The Japs had their suicide bombers too. And we stopped them. What it takes is the resolve and will to use a level of brutality and violence that your generations can't stomach. And until you can, this $#@! won't stop. It took us on the beaches with bullets, clearing out caves with flame throwers, and men like LeMay burning down their cities killing people by the tens of thousands. And then it took 2 atom bombs on top of it. But if that was what it took to win we were willing to do it. Until you are willing to do the same...well I hope you enjoy this $#@!, because it ain't going to stop."

The way I see it... we will never win another war because we won't go all the way because all the way means we have to fight someone who is almost as strong and powerful as USA. We will never fight a hot war with Russia or China, but do this BS proxy war or covertly support the other side to fight for you.

Some might say.. "well we lost Vietnam even though we bombed the hell out of them." But we were still scared of accidentally bombing Russian advisors and avoided large areas. Is it good that we are scared? Yeah. It means the powers that be are not that insane and they at least try to avoid nuclear war (with exception of a few people).

I'd have to ask Zippy but I'm pretty sure the stock market is indeed a good indicator for health of the economy

Are you a professional comedy writer? Because if you aren't you should quit your day job.
