    Once There was a Man Named William Jennings Bryan

    He was this really anti-establishment populist guy. He had bigger rallies than his opponent, William McKinley. Bryan was high energy, McKinley was low energy. But Bryan lost, and then he lost to McKinley another time, and 8 years later he lost a third time. He couldn't even beat Taft.

    Noted for his oratory skills in a day where people spoke out in open air under natural lighting without some idiot TV network doing all the editing. New writers actually wrote down what he said and reported it for real.

    McKinley wasn't low energy, but stayed home because of his sick wife. he ran a front poach campaign and trolleys brought huge crowds to him
