And people were respected and measured for the work that they did for the cause whether it be organizing a sign wave on an overpass or learning to become delegates or getting people interested in becoming elected. And much more beyond that.
But that trend changed to the larger extent. Trends are important to observe because trends tell us where we are heading. Trends help us to navigate away from what we think might be a poor course or they show us that we're on a desirable course. Nowadays it seems like people are often respected and measured only by how much of a clown or half-wit or distraction they can be. Conflicts of interest arise. It clogs things. It gets in the way. Frankly, I get embarrassed to try to post anything of any kind of serious nature knowing that most anything that would follow behind would be a bunch of stuff I wouldn't even want to be associated with as a small government activist. I used to. I don't anymore. Not here anyway. Free speech seems to be gradually dissociated with the respect for responsible speech for too often now. Recall that Liberty should never be spoken or written absent the word Responsibility. Liberty-Responsibility, as it is. That separation grows every day under such a big tent of people who identify as libertarian regardless of whether they really are. It's a disaster waiting to happen left unattended. Some friends do certainly take advantage of that in order to kind of help it along. Right? Of course, they do. And it's the same bunch over and over again.
So that's the main reason I do take off once in a while to attend more productive, more responsible groups. Of course, it's hard to break a habit. Like I said, though, each time I do take a break, the break gets longer.
You can call that being a drama queen if you like. At the end of the day it's really no more than caricaturing on your part. And that's okay.
Okay, that's it. I'm definitely done with the thread this time. I'm serious now. I did want to respond to this, though. And to respond to what you said in your own forum about me, you did not force me into anything. What would you be forcing me into? It ain't my drama, brother. I was just calling a spade a spade. And I did so respectfully which cannot be said for some others. I take pleasure in correcting misinformation. I consider it a moral duty. People who rely solely upon proof-texting scripture to accommodate acceptance of a purely cultural Christian lifestyle misrepresent the over-all tenor of scripture as it corresponds to other scripture across the many books of the Bible to the casual passers-by who might be new to the Bible. While it is amateur and acceptable to recognize it as such, the larger problem is that it is deceptive in practice. It is anti-moral. As a consequence it becomes anti-liberty given that Individual Liberty and its fundamental principles are premised upon a single, specific, primary foundation for moral code. Again, libertine is not libertarian. Libertine is patently contradictory to libertarian.
