Trump official resigns after racism comments

A county chairwoman of Donald Trump's campaign in Ohio resigned on Thursday following comments suggesting President Obama is to blame for racism.

Trump's Ohio state director, Bob Paduchik, said in a statement that county chairmen are "volunteers" and "not spokespeople for the campaign."

He said he accepted the resignation of Kathy Miller, who has been organizing Trump's campaign in Mahoning County, following her "inappropriate comments."

Miller also released a statement apologizing for her "inappropriate" comments and reiterating that she was not speaking on behalf of the campaign.

Miller's remarks to The Guardian quickly gained national attention Thursday, coming as the GOP presidential nominee has in recent weeks tried to court African-American voters.

"I don’t think there was any racism until Obama got elected. We never had problems like this," Miller had said in the interview.

"If you’re black and you haven’t been successful in the last 50 years, it’s your own fault," she also said. "You’ve had every opportunity, it was given to you."

Mahoning County is the 10th-largest county by population in the battleground state of Ohio, where recent polls have shown Trump slightly ahead of Hillary Clinton.

    Good.

HRC campaign should also follow suit and call for resignation of top official who made a very racist speech about US prison system comparing African-American kids to "superpredators".
Same official who is central figure of Hillary Clinton's campaign also had dinner with and held joint prayer session with a controversial pastor who believed US media was controlled by Jews and said this about US Jews:
"And they're the ones putting out the pornographic stuff. But this stranglehold has got to be broken or this country is going to go down the drain.".

When will that HRC campaign top official resign?

Despite apology, GOP ex-chair stands by comments

Kathy Miller apologized for “inappropriate” comments she made about African-Americans and racism – leading to her resignation as Donald Trump’s Mahoning County campaign chairwoman and a Republican member of the Electoral College.

She also said, however, she stands by her statements.

“I’m apologizing that it’s causing all the problems for Mr. Trump, not for the statements,” Miller said Thursday in an exclusive interview with The Vindicator. “It’s just a distraction. I thought it was best to step aside.”

The Guardian published an article online Thursday that quoted Miller, Trump’s volunteer coordinator in Mahoning County, saying: “I don’t think there was any racism until [President Barack] Obama got elected. We never had problems like this ... now, with the people with the guns, and shooting up neighborhoods, and not being responsible citizens, that’s a big change, and I think that’s the philosophy that Obama has perpetuated on America.”

She also said, “If you’re black, and you haven’t been successful in the last 50 years, it’s your own fault. You’ve had every opportunity; it was given to you.”

Miller also dismissed the racial tensions of the 1960s, when she said she graduated from high school. “Growing up as a kid, there was no racism, believe me. We were just all kids going to school.”

Asked about segregation and the civil rights movement, she replied: “I never experienced it. I never saw that as anything.”
"I didn't see it, so it never existed." Okay, lady.

Stupid comment, but doesn't mean Obama isn't a racist, too.

    I didn't give a $#@! about publicized/politicized discrimination then and I certainly don't now.

    The replacement: http://www.rawstory.com/2016/09/new-...Fivww.facebook

The whole thing is one big circus.

This is up in my neck of the woods and she is full of crap. I've heard the stories from locals about the blatantly segregated neighborhoods in her youth, which are still pretty segregated even today. And please, she's in real estate but there's no racism? Um, yeah, that's why you are told about federal testers for fair housing compliance when you become an agent. Wrong job to plead ignorance. I have my own suspicions on just how much compliance is occurring on that front wrt apartments here, as well.

She worded things just as she intended and I hope she gets a good, healthy dose of that non-politically correct speech her candidate supports to let her know just what folks think of her beliefs.

I'm sure many want to put the blame on Obama. If only we could stick with those that look presidential: old, white men then there wouldn't be any disharmony. People need to learn to stay in the fields and the kitchens, where they belong, and let the presidential looking folks handle the heavy lifting.

Don't think that is particularly true. TPTB like to tell us that but the general POV is pretty split.

    My POV says that:

    A) The MSM has stirred the pot much more under Obama, where before most of the country really had no idea about how others were treated- pretty much on a continual basis.

    B) Now the average Joe knows more than he did 20 years ago- such as blacks being much more likely to be incarcerated for drugs than white drug users.

Black and white Americans differ widely in views on race relations

Whites and blacks are split over the current state of race relations and what progress Obama has made on the issue. About six-in-ten blacks (61%) say race relations are generally bad, while about equal shares of whites say race relations are good as say they’re bad. Overall views on race relations are more positive now than they were a year ago, following the unrest in Baltimore over the death of Freddie Gray, a black man who died while in police custody. Even so, the public’s views of race relations are more negative now than they have been for much of the 2000s.

Following the election of Barack Obama as the nation’s first black president in 2008, many voters were optimistic that his election would lead to better race relations. Today, about a third of Americans (34%) say Obama has made progress on improving race relations, while about three-in-ten (28%) say he has tried but failed to make progress. A quarter say the president has made race relations worse and 8% say he has not addressed race relations.

Blacks are far more likely than whites or Hispanics to say Obama has made progress on race relations (51% vs. 28% and 38%, respectively).

Among whites, Republicans are particularly likely to say the president has made race relations worse: 63% of white Republicans say this is the case.

Proof that Obama and news channels are on the left and should not be listened to. Claim that whites avoid jail for drugs is full of bs. White drug users avoid jail because they use less.
