This thread with speech video has better information value than the one I started with second hand NBC report. I'll just post sarcastic commetrary from that thread here:

Disgraced DGP seems to be dropping all pretences of not playing skin color politics. Is it not in realm of possibiliy that even some people with "black skin color" could also be turned off by historic mixed-race leader's fake promises and divisive race card exploits for his puppet masters political gains, lacking economic progress for minorities despite lofty claims, puppetbaggery/swcbaggery for neocons/wall streety money baggers etc and instigation of bloody wars/droning of little kids of color/destabilization of pretty much the whole world?

Obama: Low Black Voter Turnout Would Be 'Insult to My Legacy'

WASHINGTON, D.C. - President Barack Obama, in one of his final presidential addresses to a predominately black audience of Capitol Hill lawmakers and guests, made a plea to his Democratic base: African-Americans must vote en masse in November's ...

Clinton campaign released a picture of Barack Obama in a turban during a 2006 visit to Kenya, apparently to encourage the rumors about his connections to Islam.

    Monday 25 February 2008
Barack Obama's campaign team today accused Hillary Clinton's beleaguered staff of mounting a desperate dirty tricks operation by circulating a picture of him in African dress, feeding into false claims on US websites that he is a Muslim.Obama's campaign manager, David Plouffe, described it as "the most shameful, offensive fear-mongering we've seen from either party in this election". Obama has had to spend much of the campaign stressing he is a Christian not a Muslim and did not study at a madrassa.

If you’re black and voting against Hillary you are personally insulting Obama – says Obama!

This man has an Ozymandias complex. Everything is about him. Hillary is there, it’s her show, and he talks about himself!

The poor man. He can’t stop worshiping at his own shrine – oblivious to reality, he really believes that he is their Great Leader. It’s the Black Caucus, after all, they really love him, not Hillary. He will stretch out his hand to the lowly liar who comes groveling before his throne, deigning to infuse her with the Spirit of Hope (and a get-out-of-jail-free card after the election– come on, why else would she put up with this pompous personal insult to her?)...
Based on the idea of natural rights, government secures those rights to the individual by strictly negative intervention, making justice costless and easy of access; and beyond that it does not go. The State, on the other hand, both in its genesis and by its primary intention, is purely anti-social. It is not based on the idea of natural rights, but on the idea that the individual has no rights except those that the State may provisionally grant him. It has always made justice costly and difficult of access, and has invariably held itself above justice and common morality whenever it could advantage itself by so doing.

Just watch, my internet pals... Hillary is going to glide into the White House the way her giant 13-inch cock glides into a well worked, lubed, and willing boothole.

And no, I'm not using the porn metaphor gratuitously. We're just about to take it majorly in the seat, I suspect, and I don't think there is a damned thing we will do to stop it.

SOCIAL justice. He is not referring to anything other than that.

But this is very strange and almost condescending tone he has taken in this speech

Condescending? I heard no such thing. I heard encouragement, 'tis all. It was a reminder; a clarification lest any of his adoring supporters misapprehend his position. He is making clear his position so that his loyal drones will know what to do come election day.

this is no way to talk to the group without whose votes he would never have been elected and many of whom feel used.
You kidding? Did you not hear the wild cheering with which is admonitions were met? Listen again - the crowd was swallowing every drop.

Were you being serious or employing sarcasm?

In any case, "If I hear anybody..", "read up on your history"... tone sounded quite condescending. Hard to tell if it was 10% or 50% of crowd actually applauding.
Many black people do feel used by Obama.

    Serious sarcasm? Sarcastic seriousness?

I heard more encouragement than condescension. Perhaps it is just me, but I am thinking he chose his words carefully... a form of clear bull$#@! that gets a "positive" message across to his sycophants. I could be wrong, but that is what I heard.

Hard to tell if it was 10% or 50% of crowd actually applauding.
It sounded like a lot were applauding.

Completely agree. However, the distribution of blacks feeling screwed by Bammy v. those wanting to have his babies is certainly no "better" than that in any other demographic, IMO. It is, most likely, notably worse which to me translates into a far greater proportion of blacks wanting to bear his children than what we would find in the population of, say, whites... hordes upon swarms of hopelessly stoopid liberals notwithstanding. That whole "first black president" thing, being a really strong emotional issue, is powerful enough to drive many to flee honesty and reason.

Maybe it isn't as pervasive as I think, but I have yet to see persuasive evidence to that effect. Just as several of the jurors at the trial of OJ Simpson later admitted they acquitted because he was black, so I feel that tons of black folk will retain their Bammy knee pads no matter what outrage he may sling into their laps. When an issue is as powerful as "first black president", the emotional investment drives many to the "in for a penny, in for a pound" philosophy. In the minds of such people, a man like Bammy can do no wrong.

That all said, I also suspect far more black folk feel they've taken it in the butt by Bammy than the less-than-worthless MSM will report.

Not a fan of DGP but he often is good performer at podium. The frustration/anger in above speech is quite noticeable and uncharacteristic. Is he deepdown concerned that a Trump win could actually materialize controversial #lockherup type demands and he could be roped in with HRC in any real or sham prosecution against "Washington corruption" that Trump may initiate against the Benghazi duo?
