New Mexico Dona Ana County District Attorney Candidate

Brad Cates is running for District Attorney in NM's Dona Ana County. A true liberty candidate, he's been fighting against civil forfeiture for awhile.

His campaign website, donations can even be in bitcoin

Here's what CATO says about him and his stance on civil forfeiture

    Something from his webpage

The Bill of Rights have stood the test of time, and Brad Cates stands firmly with each individual in defending those rights.

Individuals and the press have a right to speak their mind, no matter whose feelings get hurt.

Law abiding individuals have a right to possess firearms. It is the criminals who should be disarmed and prosecuted.

Each person has a right to own property, and the government should not take it without due process and a day in court. People’s property should not be seized and forfeited without an arrest and conviction.

Everyone has a reasonable expectation of privacy in their phones and electronic devices. The outdated New Mexico computer crimes law needs a serious update to protect your images and words, and a tough “sex-tortion” provision needs to be added.

Each person’s home, devices, phones, and papers should be secure from warrantless searches, spying, and seizures.

The people individually are endowed by their creator with these rights, and as such, the government works for them, not vice versa.

Liberty and district attorneys are not synonymous.
Law abiding individuals have a right to possess firearms. It is the criminals who should be disarmed and prosecuted
    .
The 2nd amendment is very clear, when this dude refuses to prosecute anyone who possesses a firearm and charges any state or federal official who infringes on that right then he might be beginning to grasp the concept of liberty.

To call a candidate "liberty oriented" requires different beliefs than what you've posted for me to investigate further...

Who has he prosecuted and for what "crimes" ?

What kops have committed what offences while in his employ?

Track records speak much louder than words........

This guy isn't a liberty candidate. The 2nd Amendment is crystal clear: "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."
    I am the spoon.
