What's the line for miltarized? Body armor, helmets and automatic rifles doesn't really bother me. It's when they start rolling in armored vehicles and bombing people it's gone too far IMO.

Most of those fatalities are car accidents and heart attacks from unhealthy living. Actual deliberate homicides of police officers probably average less than 10-20 a year, vs ~500 for citizens killed by the police. So the ratio is between 25 to 1 and 50 to 1. In the actual military, if we are killing the enemy at a rate of more than 25 to 1 and still having problems, we do not consider this issue to be a lack of equipment, but rather an effect of improper tactics or strategy. The heavily imbalanced kill ratio largely indicates that we have all the destructive power we need in our equipment, but something in our tactics or strategy is motivating the enemy to continue fighting despite their obscene losses.
There are exceptions to every rule, of course. The Japanese in WW2 took such losses without surrender, not due to our tactics, but due to their training. That's not a condition that can be applied to random people on the streets of the US. The people being killed here are not trained at all.

What's really sad is that I'm not shocked seeing people actually supporting militarizing the police even further.
I'm not a fan of military police, but something needs to be done. BLM continues to run wild attacking property and whites when they have their riots disguised as protests. The bigger problem is that the police are afraid to even confront them due to the lawsuits and public screeching about racism if they so much as look at a BLM thug the wrong way.
