So obviously the Bernie Sanders crowd likes to point to Europe and other countries as example of "free stuff" working in other countries while quality of life is fairly decent.
But what's the real story behind this?
Well, first off, taxes in these countries are higher. Thats a given.
Another thing I read was that in Germany, there are placement tests to determine whether one goes to a University or Technical school, because there it's seen as an investment, not an "experience" like in the US. The mindset of many Americans would have to change when it comes to going to school.
What are some other mythbusters in relation to "Free" healthcare and education.
Does anyone know how graduate school (Law, Medicine, Business) work in these other countries? That can't be free.
2nd hand experience speaking with people in those countries obviously would be a bonus to understand how things are "over there."
