Haha not as many as Stalin murdered and you know it. Besides, Christianity is based on the teachings of Jesus, not the actions of morons in Europe and America.

You don't know ANY history beyond a few inaccurate cliches and gross exaggerations. Do you have any FACTS you want to debate yet?

The amount of women throughout Europe executed for witch practice is between 40,000 to 100,000 and double that for charges.

For England that be about 500 women four centuries ago.

And a few men too, concerned wizards.

Any citations to back that up?

Lol, no. I ask for a citation and you tell me to read some book. Must be a European thing.

Here are some thoughts on this topic. Hopefully someone finds this useful.

I believe the answer is not so much religion vs. the absence thereof, but to which degree a society is run by unchecked psychopaths. Religion, communism, or some other form of government are simply vehicles for control and convincing the common people to support said psychopaths. So we sit here and argue whether or not religious societies are better or worse, but until people realize that those running the show are the same, we will continue to argue perpetually. If we could somehow eliminate or marginalize psychopaths in our society, a discussion for or against religion could take place. However, in that hypothetical, such a discussion would have already become meaningless.

This is because religion wpuld become much less controlled from the top. I am not convinced that religion actually changes someone's character. Some may believe they were helped in this manner, but it most likely speculation that is not well thought out. They are who they are for other reasons. The people would hopefully realize this by then.

However, as long as the people are not aware (or better yet, tolerant) of the common psychopath, discussing the merits of religion, atheists, or government becomes worthless.

That is like saying government members should all do the correct task in government, when not all do.

Religion leads to the process of non thinking without hard evidence about reality. Dawkins was correct.
