Ernest T. Reeves, Captain, United States Army Retired:
Nicknamed “ETR,” is a retired United States Army Communications Officer (Signal Corps, U.S. Army Pentagon) entrepreneur, and business owner.
Originally from Greenville North Carolina, he is a graduate of J.H. Rose, Sr. High School and the twelfth child of the late Alfred (a Professional Lawn Care Owner) and Lena Reeves (a Stay At Home Mom). As a little boy he became interested in politics partly as a result of his father’s outstanding longtime lawn care business relationship with Dr. John P. East (Professor, Politician) who became U.S. Senator John P. East (R-NC). As U.S. Senator, Dr. East (R-NC) continued his outstanding longtime business relationship with his father and in 1982 he was advised by Senator East’s Special Assistant (by phone) and later in person by Senator East (R-NC) about cadet training opportunities at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School, Fort Monmouth New Jersey and West Point Military Academy, New York.

While on active duty, he served key assignments in South Korea; Japan [Executive Officer, Commander, and Secretary for the Armed Forces Communications Electronics Association (AFCEA) Tokyo, Japan]; West Germany; The Middle East (Combat Zone); Seattle, Washington (Seattle-Tacoma International Airport; nominative); Pontiac, Michigan (Commander, Pontiac Recruiting Company; nominative); Washington, D.C. (Headquarters U.S. Army, Department of Defense, Pentagon, nominative); and was selected (hand-picked) as Escort Officer on several occasions for U.S. Ambassador Paul Bremer (Republican), U.S. Administrator for Iraq, President Bush's Coalition Provisional Authority Leader to Iraq (White House Special Duty), 2003.
He was also selected above many high ranking contemporaries to serve as the military assistant to the staff of U.S. Ambassador Darrell Trent (Republican), Minister of Transportation to Iraq. In addition, he played a key role (military actor) for the 2003 United Way Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Film "What Makes America Great." After his retirement from active duty (U.S. Army Pentagon) and a brief sabbatical, he accepted a United Airlines management position (Talented Management Program) with Headquarters, United Airlines, Chicago, Illinois as a Supervisor of Airport Operations (RAMP) United Airlines, Chicago O’Hare International Airport, Chicago, Illinois. He also served as Supervisor of Airport Operations (RAMP), United Airlines at Denver International Airport, Denver, Colorado, and San Francisco International Airport, San Francisco, California (management training rotations only).
In 2006, he moved back to Greenville, North Carolina to spend more time with his relatives, go back to college, and start his own business. In 2012, he started Jesusa Coffee, LLC and Jesusa Entertainment, LLC. However, both were put on hold after a proposed location business agreement could not be reached and his uncle became ill. From March 2012 through March 2014 he served as power of attorney and attorney in fact for his uncle who died in March 2014.
In May 2014 he ran for the U.S. Senate to represent North Carolina. He sought the Democratic nomination in the primary, but was defeated by incumbent U.S. Senator Kay Hagan. He received 43,257 votes throughout the state of North Carolina. In November 2015 he ran for Mayor of Greenville, North Carolina, but was defeated by Incumbent Mayor Allen Thomas. Moreover, In March of 2016 he ran for the U.S. Senate to represent North Carolina, but was defeated by U.S. Senate Candidate Deborah Ross. He received more than 91,000 votes across the state of North Carolina.
