The Progressive haven of San Francisco will be hosting a drag queen story time for children in hopes of bringing the community back to its “radically ***** roots.”
SFGate reports the non-profit RADAR Productions will be hosting a Drag Queen Story Hour explicitly for children at the Eureka Valley Harvey Milk Memorial Library (yes, that’s its actual name) on March 12 at noon.
Honey Mahogany, best known for appearing on season five of “RuPal’s Drag Race,” will be facilitating the Drag Queen Story Hour.
The event will apparently be a “unique and unforgettable story hour, featuring face painting and cookies!”
RADAR executive director Juliana Delgado Lopera told SFGate the Drag Queen Story Hour is “disrupting that idea that *****s can't mix with kids."
“I think generally *****s are not mixed with kids—especially drag queens. It's really beautiful to have drag queens painting children's faces and telling stories,” Delgado Lopera said.
Delgado Lopera expressed she is happy with how previous Drag Queen Story Hours have fared. She particularly noted that children at the events appear gender***** and, somehow, this is a good thing.
