Protestor Turns off Trump's lights at rally. Trump still wins

PROTESTER CUTS ELECTRICITY AT TRUMP RALLY – But Didn’t Count on Trump’s Response (VIDEO)

    Jim Hoft Feb 22nd, 2016 7:28 am 82 Comments

GOP frontrunner Donald Trump doesn’t miss a beat as the lights go out in the middle of his speech at a packed convention center in Atlanta.

The Trump supporters lined up three hours early to get inside the Georgia World Congress Center.

A far left protester cut the electricity at the Trump Rally on Sunday.

The protester reportedly reached over and pulled the wire when the technician stepped away from the control panel.

This could have been a dangerous situation but instead of being angry GOP frontrunner Donald Trump made the most of it.

“They didn’t pay the electric bill. Oh, I like that much better. Oh, those lights were brutal. Did they come from the dishonest press? Oh, don’t turn them on. Better huh? Don’t turn them on. Plus we save on electricity. Right? And because the lights didn’t work I won’t pay the rent. So we get better lighting and we don’t pay the rent, right?

Pretty soon people are going to be on their knees all googly eyed because Trump says, "Ya know the other day I took a $#@!. And it was this great big $#@!, the kind that only comes from billionaires right? And then I flushed it. And it flushed because I've got the best toilets. They're just the best toilets."

This guy is one hell of a showman.

I've never seen a candidate roll with punches and spin everything to his advantage better than this. "I'm not paying the rent for this place" is a great line. And he's right -- you know he'll get out paying whatever he owed because of that.

Maybe Trump paid the guy to shut off the lights.

"And me $#@!ting on every single one of you out there will make America great again!"

Referring to the OP, I once almost did something very similar. In 2012, I had met up with Gage to go see Ron Paul speak. On the way back, it was somehow decided that instead of going back to Shem's place, we were going to go to a sign wave at one of newt's campaign appearances. When he started speaking, everyone went inside. newt's speech didn't really hold my interest, so I just kind of wandered around, checking things out. I noticed that the PA system was powered by a single extension cord that ran from the room, to where it was plugged in in the entrance hallway. There wasn't really anyone in the hallway, except a security guard by the door. There were two doorways in the hallway, which led into the room, and there were security guards lingering just inside those doorways. I spent most of newt's speech in the hallway, just waiting for the right moment, for both the security guard by the door and one of the doorways to turn their backs at the same time. I wanted SO desperately to unplug newt's PA system, and be able to slip back into the crowd without being noticed. Unfortunately, I never did get the opportunity, and it would have been impossible to do the deed without being caught.

I really don't understand why people still feel the need to disparage Trump on here. Basically, there's a bevy of neocons and communists (or is that redundant?) running against Trump who are much more deserving of your ire than Trump is.

I see hardly anybody talking trash against Hillary. And that warmongering neocon is talking about going to war with Russia while implementing Communist ideology here at home.

I make no apologies for supporting Trump over the rest of the field this election. The neocons have us on a path to WW3 and nobody but Carson and Trump are looking for a way out of it,...and I don't believe that Carson is strong enough to back them off.

Do you keep a poster of him in your room too?

The fangirling over him drives me bonkers.

I erroneously believed that you were capable of rational discourse.

    The adjustment has been made.

It may be necessary to make an adjustment which recognizes you as a Hillary supporter.

I'll have to read up and analyze that a bit beforehand, however.

    Your join date carries questions.

It's interesting that you chose to launch your little ad hom attack as soon as Hillary's name was mentioned.

It's also peculiar that you keep attempting to steer everyone toward a thread of your own making in threads where the dialogue isn't going as you would prefer it to.

Trump is talented, there is no doubt about that. Every time he pulls off an effective and quick-witted comeback I can't help but wish that there was a liberty-oriented candidate that could do that. Trump pretends he is no politician, when in reality, he is an expert politician.

As opposed to a candidate like Rubio, who can't go off script without getting stuck in a loop.

Nationalism vs Globalism and everyone is naked. EVERYONE.

Reminds me of when the term, "rongasm", was pronounced on this forum as a reaction to hearing Ron speak in a short interview. Also when supporters would depict Ron in graphics as Gandalf, Superman, etc., etc., etc.

Trump believes in Mercantilism, which is in many ways more destructive than globalist "Free Trade" stuff that we are doing now.

He cares not about civil liberties.

He is more non interventionist than the rest, but still "the most militarist".

He is grounded in no ideology other than the false one that Trade is a Zero Sum Game.

How can you say he is "better" than someone like...say Cruz (who I am in no way endorsing, but just using as example).

Outside of a few substantial policy differences and a select few acts of treachery to our movement...he is by all means closer to our positions than Trump, is he not?

"Triggered" is a known SJW term.

    You're backtracking isn't working.

The Ron Paul libertarians are a bit disenfranchised at present, but they're not going to vote Communist, comrade.

    Give it up.

Peter Schiff. I'd really like to see him run again, he was great at that!

Alright Smitty, I have attempted humor and diplomacy, but you insist on war. So be it. I have no issue defending my stances, my posts, or myself.

"As soon as Hillary's name was mentioned". You of course erroneously believe that my original comment was directed towards your comments. It was not. In fact, it was towards the OP...as the entire article is basically "oh look, Trump said something funny, lets give him praise". I'm not a huge fan of threads like that. So I told him that the Trump Fangirling was annoying.

You took offense to it, and I thought that it was odd of you to do so...but out of respect, I relented and attempted coy humor with the Triggered. I will have you know, you are the first person to ever accuse me of being a Hillary Supporter or a Social Justice Warrior. I understand that we are largely ignorant of each other, but that does not excuse baseless accusations.

Now, the directing of people to threads is simple. I have created two threads that sort of go hand in hand. The first "The Reluctant Case for Trump", had a message that either I did not explain as well as I should have in my original post, or the message was jumbled and lost in the medium. After attempting to spot correct to ensure I wasn't misinterpreted, I decided to create a second thread "Trump: The Useful Idiot". It is basically the exact same argument, just explained in a way that I believe to be much, much easier to interpret.

I find it difficult to understand how I can be simultaneously a Hillary Supporting SJW and urging a discussion in which I suggest that Trumps hypothetical election may be the best thing for the Liberty Movement moving forward to 2020. So no, the issue wasn't that the dialogue wasn't going where I wanted it to. It is that my end of the dialogue was being misinterpreted. I wanted to make sure that my views were crystal clear. I see nothing wrong with that.

Backtracking. I would not say that I am a backtracker. I have humility, and I do not attempt to play tough guy behind a computer screen....so I apologized to you when you indicated some kind of offense was taken. My view on Trump fangirling has not changed.

Yes, we are disenfranchised, because people like you who throw their wholehearted support behind wanna-be Tyrants like Donald J. Trump. You essentially have abandoned ship, and you continue to use this forum to advocate for his election. See, there is a difference between talking about what may be best for the Liberty Movement going forward, and saying not to "disparage Trump".

And maybe you should check your own movement....because there have been many, many Ron Paul supporters who have abandoned ship to Bernie Sanders, Comrade. Just because you chose to support the Fascist over the Socialist, doesn't make you morally superior.

In short, screw off Smitty. I really don't care how long you've been a member on the boards...all that matters is that you are the outlet for the Trump Campaign now.
