What is wrong with TN these days? (2016 Primary Poll Released)

Recently released poll from MTSU for the 2016 Primary.

Rand Paul didn't receive a single vote. Not one, out of approximately 300 Republicans polled.

Generally speaking the people I know, talk to and associate with in East TN are very conservative. But the polls show Rand not getting a single vote out of all the Republicans polled and Trump up handily. The Volunteer state is disappointing me. Rand does better in South Carolina than TN even.

*This poll is a bit different in most in that the responder had to name the actual person they supported in the first question rather than being read a list of names.

I suppose you expect these people they poll are picked randomly right?

'We endorse the idea of voluntarism; self-responsibility: Family, friends, and churches to solve problems, rather than saying that some monolithic government is going to make you take care of yourself and be a better person. It's a preposterous notion: It never worked, it never will. The government can't make you a better person; it can't make you follow good habits.' - Ron Paul 1988

    From the polling organization:

    "Methodology

Telephone interviews for the poll were completed by Issues & Answers Network Inc. from among a random sample of registered Tennessee voters age 18 and over. Data were collected using Tennessee statewide voter registration sample of 60 percent landline and 40 percent cell phones. The average interview length was 12 minutes. Quotas by gender and Grand Region were implemented. Data were weighted based on respondent age to ensure the data represent Tennessee registered voters. The survey’s error margin of 4 percentage points indicates one can be 95 percent confident that the actual population figure lies within 4 percentage points (in either direction) of the poll result. Error margins for subgroups can be larger, depending on the subgroup’s size."

The only polled registered voters, not likely primary voters. This poll while probably accurate in general, cannot be completely counted on.

No one I've seen is really watching the GOP race yet. The only signs and campus organizations I've seen are for Bernie. Remember Santorum won TN by a wide margin in 2012. It will be Cruz or Carson this time around.
“I don’t think that there will be any curtailing of Donald Trump as president,” he said. "He controls the media, he controls the sentiment [and] he controls everybody. He’s the one who will resort to executive orders more so than [President] Obama ever used them." - Ron Paul

Christie, Huckabee, Bush, Kasich, Fiorina, and Paul are all essentially tied for 5th place.

It's interesting to see Carson hanging in there in Tennessee.
