He wants to abolish the TSA, and prevent the NSA from conducting unconstitutional searches.

He doesn't plan to abolish the entire DHS or IRS (though he plans to dramatically cut taxes).

...now, in his heart, Rand's a minarchist who would strip government down to virtually nothing, but that's not his official platform.

Here is what you don't get - if we currently had a flat tax like what Rand is proposing, then Rand would want to vote to lower it or abolish it altogether along with lowering spending. But since we have an even bigger behemoth to worry about, he is proposing this incremental step so that we can reign in the federal government in a way that seems more palatable and less disruptive to most people. It is simply a more realistic approach to help get spending under control.

"Each of us must choose which course of action we should take: education, conventional political action, or even peaceful civil disobedience to bring about necessary changes. But let it not be said that we did nothing." - Ron Paul

"Paul said "the wave of the future" is a coalition of anti-authoritarian progressive Democrats and libertarian Republicans in Congress opposed to domestic surveillance, opposed to starting new wars and in favor of ending the so-called War on Drugs."

He doesn't mention it very often. However,

They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but the Lord was my support.

    His position hasn't changed.

I don't know if he's mentioned it in recent speeches, but it's still in his budget, the same one he introduces every year.

It eliminates all funding for the TSA.

When you are forced to drink whatever concoction they give you, making it less lethal is a commendable action.

"I don't think that releasing sanctions, simultaneous to the beginning of the process is a good idea. So I think had we been negotiating to allow sanctions to be released in a very gradual fashion after we were seeing significant compliance, that could have been a deal that could have been acceptable, but the Iranians have a long way to go to prove to us that they are going to uh, you know uh really ,eh ..with this agreement they will be verifiable in their actions."- Rand Paul on sanctions.....

I still wonder why he thinks sanctions are okay at all?

    How about this...

If you're still bitching about Rand's alleged impurities at this point, just go away.

    You're not wanted or needed.

Evidently he thinks it helps provide for the security of the US. If he has arrived at that conclusion then I'll just have to defer to him on the topic; I trust his judgement. Its not really a top 50 issue for me.

"impurities"...is that what its called now to bring up principles vs non-principled decisions? You sound angry, like a neocon
