Uh, in order to prevent Muslim immigration you would need to develop some sort of screening process to weed them out. This is true of any requirement in any context. Rand's proposal is insufficient because focusing on nations is outdated in a world where so many previously good nations have adopted suicidal immigration policies. So let's get back to a serious discussion of just how Trump's proposal (to ban U.S. entry to people based on their religion) would be implemented. Is there some secret stigmata by which a Muslim can be identified?

Somehow I don't think that asking people at entry points what their religion is, would work. It reminds me of the absurd procedure that was used in the '80s, the infancy of security theatre, in which people were asked at airport check-ins if they packed their own luggage.

Trump's proposal is ridiculous because it is unworkable without draconian police state tactics.

If you can think of a realistic, effective and non-police state approach to implement Trump's proposal, please enlighten me.

That seems a bit extreme. After the illegals are deported I suggest that the American government initiate a program to implement the immigration of non Turkish Europeans with the stipulation that they can pass a test which indicates that they possess conservative, nationalist values and are in possession of a skill which will both support themselves and benefit American society.

So that would be from about 1781, when the Articles of Confederation were ratified to Shay's Rebellion in 1786-1787 for farmers being over-taxed & fined to the Constitution, which was a Hamiltonian coup for a large controlling central government. So, about 1790 when the last state, Rhode Island, finally ratified the Constitution under threats of being considered a foreign country.

Isn't Western European too broad? I mean you can't mean to include Scots, Irish, or Italians. And then on the other hand, you also can't exclude blacks who made up a significant percentage of America's population no matter which period of time you're talking about.

Albanians are the only "Europeans" that are Muslim, and yes they would obviously be on the list of people we shouldn't allow to immigrate. In truth, the US never should have intervened on their behalf by bombing Serbia. If we has simply stayed out of that conflict the Albanian threat wouldn't be nearly the problem it is today.
