Republican Trump drops 12 percentage points in poll: Reuters/Ipsos

WASHINGTON - U.S. presidential hopeful Donald Trump's support among Republicans has dropped 12 points in less than a week, marking the real estate mogul's biggest decline since he vaulted to the top of the field in July, according to a Reuters/Ipsos poll.

Trump was the favorite of 31 percent of Republicans in a rolling poll in the five days ended on Nov. 27. That was down from a peak of 43 percent registered on Nov. 22.

The dip follows criticism of Trump for comments he made in the aftermath of the Nov. 13 Paris attacks that killed 130 people and wounded hundreds more.

Following the attacks, Trump told an NBC News reporter that he would support requiring all Muslims within the United States to be registered to a special database, which his critics have likened to the mandatory registration of Jews in Nazi Germany.

If he drops another 12 points, then I'll start getting excited, though I have misgivings about the accuracy of this poll given its extremely low sample size and high margin of error.

He also made fun of the handicapped.

    Trump has gone full retard.

This might explain why rabid Cruz fans are everywhere lately. Go read the comments on The Blaze, all they do is talk about Ted Cruz all day. People on The Blaze are so obsessed with turning this country into like Texas.

Cruz fans are all over The Blaze because that is who Beck tells them to support.

At this point I am not getting real excited. It happened in Germany and it can happen here. Perfectly educated people voting for pure fascism.

Are you talking about Trump or Bernie?
If Rand does not win the Republican nomination, he should buck the controlled two party system and run as an Independent for President in 2016 and give Americans a real option to vote for.

We are all born libertarians then something goes really wrong. Despite this truth, most people are still libertarians yet not know it.

    Sadly, it applies to both.

In my cynical moments, I conclude (despite what Ron said) that "Freedom isn't popular".

    H. L. Mencken said it best:

“Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”

"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

    Pretty similar...

Let me put it this way: Trump's like FDR in his first term (Wall Street socialist), Bernie's like FDR is his second term (proletarian socialist).
