John Bel Edwards (D) projected winner in governor's race

NEW ORLEANS -- Despite running a statewide campaign in a deeply red, conservative state, state Rep. John Bel Edwards, a Democrat, appeared to waltz to victory Saturday night and stunned Sen. David Vitter, a Republican, in the race for the governor's mansion.

I don't really care about Edwards (and no, he's supposedly no relation to Edwin Edwards...the former governor who spent time in prison not long ago)...I'm just glad David Vitter is gone. He's saying right now in his concession speech that he won't run for re-election for his Senate seat too.

Damn, that is horrible. I wish Vitter had won.
